    av Stefan Stenudd
    177

If the sun was in the Capricorn Zodiac sign at the time of your birth, this is your star sign. Astrology has a lot to say about what that means to your personality and the life you live. It is far from the only thing in your horoscope birth chart, but then again far from the least important ingredient. The sun is the most splendid heavenly body in the sky surrounding us, so its astrological influence is just as remarkable. In this book you find all you want to know about Capricorn, its personality traits, compatibility with other signs, symbolism, archetype, health, sexuality, profession of choice, family life, and on and on. You are also introduced to the complete horoscope and how you can continue to explore what astrology says about the human condition and personal characteristics. Stefan Stenudd is a Swedish author who has written several books about astrology since the 1970's. He also writes about mythology, the Tarot, life energy concepts, ancient Greek cosmology, and Taoist philosophy. His fiction, too, deals with existential themes.

About the Author + + +Bert Guiang hails from Tampo, Botolan, Zambales, Philippines. He was a freshman at the Philippine Normal College in the Manila when his grandfather Papo Ake (Dalmacio Guiang) saw the U S Navy recruiting advertisement in the Manila Times. He just turned 18 when he was inducted into the US Navy at Sangley Point in Cavite City. He first saw services as a black shoe sailor on a Destroyer and a Patrol Gunboat and later on switched to a Seabee Rating, the Construction Arm of the United States Navy. He retired as an Engineering Aide Chief Petty Officer. In addition to the two warships, he was also stationed in Puerto Rico, Virginia Beach, VA, Keflavik, Iceland, Sigonella, Sicily and Rota, Spain. One of the highlights of his career was when he became a staff member at the Civil Engineer Corps Officers School at Port Hueneme, California where he had plenty of spare times and used it to finish his academic studies and earned his Bachelors Degree from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale and wrote his first article "Architecture - the least appreciated of all the Arts" as a school project which was published in the Navy Civil Engineer Magazine. This jump-started his love of writing. Since then he had written articles published in a local Filipino-American newspaper in Oxnard, California. His love for writing has never waned ever since. + + + Acknowledgement + + +I wish to acknowledge the former and retired editor of the U S Navy Civil Engineer Magazine (1982), Leslie for his foresight and belief that a novice Enlisted writer (albeit an undergraduate then) should have a chance to be recognized by a navy-wide readership in a magazine whose writers have Masters and Doctorate Degrees and Commissioned Officers of the United States Navy. ABU NUWAS & OBEYD ZAKANI 'CONTROVERSIAL' DERVISH/SUFI POETS Selected Poems & Prose Translation & Introduction Paul Smith Abu Nuwas (757-814) was the most famous and infamous poet who composed in Arabic of the Abbasid era. His style was extravagant and his compositions reflected the licentious manners of the upper classes of his day. As a youth he was sold into slavery; a wealthy benefactor later set him free. As a man he finally settled in Baghdad and was composing poetry. Because of his long hair, he acquired the name Abu Nuwas (Father of Ringlets). Gradually he attracted the attention of Harun al-Rashid and was given quarters at court. His ability as a poet no doubt was one reason for Abu Nuwas' success with the caliph, but after a while he became known as a reprobate and participated in less reputable pastimes with the ruler. He spent time in Egypt but soon returned to Baghdad to live out his remaining years. He is popular today, perhaps more so than he ever was, as a kind of comic anti-hero. His poems consist of qit'as (of which he was the first master) ghazals and qasidas. His poems could be classified into: praises, mockeries, jokes, complaints, love of men and women, wine, hunting, laments, asceticism. All forms are here in the true meaning & rhyme structure. Introduction: Life, Times & Poetry and forms both composed in and two appendixes of some stories about him in the Arabian Nights and elsewhere. Obeyd Zakani (1300-1371) is an important a figure in Persian and Sufi literature and poetry. His satire, humorous stories, ribald and obscene poems, social commentary, mystical ghazals, prose, ruba'is, qit'as and his famous epic qasida 'Cat & Mouse' are popular today and are more relevant than ever. He is considered to be one of the world's greatest satirist and social-commentator whose life and mystical poems had a great influence on his student and friend Hafiz and many others and he (like his predecessor Abu Nuwas is as controversial today as they ever were. This is the largest selection of his works available in English. The rhyme-structure has been kept as well as the beauty and meaning of these sometimes rude, funny and mystical poems and prose. Introduction on his Life & Times & Writing. Appendix, Selected Bibliography, Many illustrations. • - The Life of Serial Killer Herb Baumeister
    av Jack Smith
    171

A Serial killer who never got to pay for his horrific crimes. Meet Herb Baumeister. On the surface, he appeared to be a successful business and family man, but underneath lay a twisted psychopath. The Fox Hollow Farm, which he owned in Indiana, became the stage of his gruesome murders and is now known for its paranormal activities... Westfield, Indiana is a quiet suburb of Indianapolis, among other equally quiet Indy suburbs with names such as Carmel, Zionsville, and Fishers. The gay nightclubs of the suburb were the kind of places where members of Indy's LGBT community would come to unwind, relax, and feel at ease. But it was these same havens of acceptance and community that became the disturbed man's favorite hunting grounds. He would lure young men into his car and then on to his million dollar estate where he would wine and dine the unsuspecting victims before strangling them to death. However, Herb Baumeister would ultimately commit suicide before answering for his crimes or even explaining to the larger world why he did what he did. Many psychoanalysts have poured over the behavior of this twisted man to create quite a startling portrait. According to them, Herb Baumeister appeared to be a man who felt himself better than most. It has been presumed that it was this feeling of omniscience that led Baumeister to believe that he could do things that others could not. Only he was cunning enough to live a double life, with both components safely compartmentalized and separate, without a soul knowing. Only he could navigate through the complex worlds of business, society, and family, while simultaneously hunting other human beings like animals. Baumeister believed that while most others were caught for their misdeeds, only he could get away with murder. Scroll back up and order your copy today!

It's not easy being queen... As ruler of Hellas, I'm delighted that that spring is blooming and lush on my island kingdom, but there are still no signs of an occupant for the royal nursery. Matthias and I are as lusty as ever, but if we can't produce children-and heirs for our respective thrones-it could set the stage for civil war. My fears aren't helped by the arrival of the legendarily conniving Dowager Queen Atilia of Illium, or her handsome grandson Prince Marcus. If Atilia thinks she can get Marcus into my bed and her great-grandchild on my throne, she'll find a dangerous and very protective king in her way. But Matthias is also dealing with dangerous family politics and a wolfish duke who kidnapped a young noblewoman for immoral purposes-at least, that's what her mother claims. With my beloved husband busy in Ypres, I may have to handle this pair of Illian schemers on my own...
