Let God Write Your Story is a captivating story of a 'transformational Christian education model' at Bridge of Hope Girls' School in post war Liberia . . . a model which is transforming the social narratives of disadvantaged girls in the Central New Matadi community and its environs. It is a story of a family with deep passion that muscled courage to bring 'renewed hope' through Christian education to marginalized teenage girls. Let God Write Your Story also unravels deep rooted cultural assumptions faced by a girl-child. She grows up in cultures that don't value her worth and her willingness to aspire to her full potentials like her boy's counterpart. The term "girl-child" as used in this book simply refers to a female offspring under the age of 18. The expression implies that girls are different from boys or face special circumstances.

Parenting is a process that evolves from child birth through to child upbringing. In other words, parenting involves mothering and fathering a child. In addition, parenting also captures warding another person usually, a younger one by an elderly. Parenting is a determinant of the child's perception of the world s/he finds himself/herself.The parenting process that involves two main actors; the parent and the ward. These two actors have their onus in the parenting process. The parent is required to establish an environment needed to catalyze the growth of the child. The latter must be willing and ready to go through the process of being warded. Thus, for a successful parenting process, there must be in existence a congenial relation between the two parties. Many a time, this prerequisite atmosphere is non-existent between the aforementioned parties owing to the style adopted by parents. These disconnects result to gaps in the developmental process. The impact and repercussion of this disconnect coupled with the antidote is discussed in this book.

    av Diana J Ivey
    177

This book, STEPS TO HANDLE YOUR KIDS will help you good methods for taking care of your inclination with kids Which isolates this book from various books about feeling with kids Understandable, positive and shown ways on the most effective way to manage kids sentiments. I'm happy that you are energetic about making your children all the more certain, enabling them to develop stronge associations as well as to perform better academically. These limits expect "up close and personal rule"- - that is, the most widely recognized approach to seeing emotions, expressing them, calming oneself down in spite of overwhelming emotions, and sorting out some way to treat others with empathy. Like us, adults, kids have a large number of feelings. They get bright, envious, angry, irate, restless, hopeless, proud, worried, and stimulated. Notwithstanding, right off the bat throughout everyday life, they fundamentally don't have the language to impart their feelings verbally. They express their feelings through fits, mimicry, real turns of events, and signs. These explanations are ordinarily sweet and engaging, but a portion of the time they just make us crazy! This book will help you with clearing up for your kids that sentiments, that is signals they get from their bodies, are associated with feelings. These feelings, whether good or pessimistic, are all faultlessly fine, but they can be imparted unexpectedly. This book will in like manner develop your children's data about their sentiments and how to administer them by offering them different approaches to managing them in conclusion, the book is connecting with while scrutinizing.

  • - To Raise a Joyful Autistic Child, Practice Loving and Tranquil Parenting
    av Aura L Benneth
    161

The term "autism" is used by the media, academics, and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual as if it were a single disorder or a single disorder throughout a range. However, autism differs from all other disorders in a number of ways. Despite extensive research efforts, no single cause or treatment has been identified, including a single brain defect that causes it, a single medicine that affects it, or a single cause or remedy itself. The scientific research on autism's causes, symptoms, course, and peaceful coexistence is examined in Austim-friendly parenting. It concludes that there is no such thing as "autism" as a single disorder, which may be alarming. There is a collection of symptoms, but like with fever, they are a result of other causes rather than being a sign of a disease in and of themselves (s). We can only advance research to more precisely understand why these symptoms occur and what the various and varied reasons may be by stopping to think of autism as a singular condition.

  • - Rising Above the Challenges of Poland Syndrome
    av Melissa Amaya
    157

Growing up is tough. Growing up with a visible birth defect raises the challenge to a new level. Born with a congenital birth defect known as Poland Syndrome, the author transparently shares her experiences; enduring childhood, surviving adolescence and numerous surgeries, until finally thriving in adulthood with a new perspective on life. Written to be an encouragement to anyone effected by a birth defect, you will not be disappointed.Poland Syndrome creates a life that has one challenge after another. Whether learning how to open a door or tie my shoe or put my hair up in a pony tail, my childhood was spent adapting and seeking to not only keep up, but excel in everything. Yet it all took a tole.Over the years I have struggled with extreme self-consciousness about both my hand and my chest. In many regards I was the same as everyone else: doing well in school and excelling in sports, but at the same time I always felt different. During my early years at college I began to acknowledge and deal with the various ways that PS had impacted my life. Out of that experience I began compiling my thoughts. I began to write as a means of my own "self-help." Over the years I continued to write and began to categorize my writing in a way that would fit a book form, so that my experience might become a help to others. It was a slow process. A humbling process. An uncomfortable process. And a HUGE step to make it public!! So this book was 10+ years in the making.I wish I knew then what I know now. I wish I could have coached myself through so many hard times with the wisdom and perspective I now posses. I cannot go back in time, but I can share that wisdom and perspective with YOU. Whether I parent seeking wisdom for a child or one with Poland Syndrome still trying to make sense of it all and desperately wanting to NOT feel alone -- may this book, may my feeble efforts -- be a help, an encouragement and a source of comfort.

    247

Can the next generation become passionate followers of God, equipped and ready to fulfill their destinies?Christian parents and mentors are entrusted with the call to nurture and train hearts, releasing children to excel in loving and seeking God. In Raising Burning Hearts, Patricia Bootsma draws on her experience of raising six children and mentoring many others, and shares the profound and hopeful news that this calling is not beyond our reach. Combining practicality and spiritual understanding, Patricia covers important strategies that are often overlooked, like the power of blessing our children, of prophetically declaring truth over them, and of teaching young ones how to hear God's voice, seek Him in the Word, and be in constant prayer. Sharing tangible applications and real-life testimonies, Patricia assures us that parents and mentors can fulfill their heavenly mandate-to raise up and release next generation lovers of God into their epic purpose.EndorsementsPatricia calls mothers, fathers, leaders, and mentors in the Body of Christ to guide the younger generation to their greatest calling in life-wholehearted, abandoned love for Jesus in keeping with becoming the Bride of Christ and living the first and great commandment. -Mike Bickle, International House of Prayer John and Patricia have been spiritual children of my husband and me for over twenty-five years. We have watched firsthand how they have raised their children. They have truly raised ones with burning hearts-loving Jesus, loving each other, and wanting to impact the next generation. We highly recommend Patricia's book. It gives practical and extremely helpful ways to raise your children and mentor them to be fruitful, godly leaders. -Carol Arnott, Catch the Fire Toronto If anyone could write a book on this subject that would exhort and impart the heart and the skills for mentoring these ones, it would be Patricia. I love her passion to see the next generation arise to be all they can be-to fulfill their God-given destiny in character, calling, and gifting. -Patricia King, XP Ministries Having raised six kids of her own-homeschooling them while pastoring churches, speaking around the world, building houses of prayer, and launching prophetic roundtables-Patricia has earned the right to speak on this subject. This book is not simply theory-it is filled with the kind of practical wisdom that only comes from having lived out what is being taught. -Stacey Campbell, RevivalNOW! MinistriesRunning after intimacy with Jesus and studying scripture should be normal practices for all Christian families. Patricia's conviction that we need to expose our children to the glory and presence of God especially touched my heart. She emphasizes that by guiding parents not to compromise our Christian morals and values, we are truly keeping God's word alive to the next generation. It is refreshing that she models in her own home what she puts to paper. - Heidi G. Baker, PhD, Iris GlobalAbout the AuthorPATRICIA BOOTSMA and her husband, John, have been pastors with Catch the Fire Ministries for 28 years, first in Canada and more recently as the Catch the Fire USA National Outreach Directors and pastors of CTF Kansas City. av Amanda Grace Harrison
    127

Ever Wonder How Some Women Have Such Ridiculously Easy Childbirths? You know the type: the super-relaxed, super-lucky women who practically sneeze their babies out. How do they do it? Does it come naturally, or do they actually train for it? Is it all about luck, or is there something you could be doing now to help make this possibility a reality for you? This book tells the story of just one of those "lucky" women. The truth is there are hundreds of tools, techniques, and resources that enable us to birth easily and painlessly. This isn't about the latest hypnosis technique or raising your pain tolerance; it's about how to step out of the pain management paradigm altogether, so you can experience something so much more profound than the absence of pain. It's about becoming the empowered and confident mother you want to be, now. As birthing women, we all have the same objective: to bring our babies into the world in the easiest, safest way possible. The personal story in this book will fill you with courage and hope and show you how that's possible. What if giving birth could be not only fun + easy, but also one of the most empowering moments of your life? That's exactly what this ordinary mom experienced, AFTER her first (typically horrible) childbirth. She'd seen videos and read stories about a very different kind of birth -- blissful, pain-free birth. But she had no idea how to experience that for herself. She thought she had tried everything -- she'd read every book by Ina May Gaskin, hired a midwife, planned a natural water birth, practiced the Hypnobirthing meditations daily, completed the Birthing from Within exercises, practiced prenatal yoga... but none of it had helped her achieve the peaceful, easy birth she'd hoped for. Pregnant with her second child and desperate not to repeat history, she embarked on a journey of discovery, spiritual exploration, and unprecedented personal growth. Come along with Amanda on the journey of a lifetime. Experience the struggles with her. Feel the pain, the exhaustion, the desperation. Learn from her mistakes, benefit from her discoveries, share in her triumphs, and find out everything you need to know to prepare for your own blissful birth experience. Giving birth really can be one of the most fulfilling, pleasurable experiences of your entire life. Let Birthing Freedom show you the way.

    av Frank Peter
    117

This book is for any parent who has at any point battled under the significant load of providing care - or, in other words, we all. Good Parenting isn't just an insightful and down to earth manual for bringing up versatile, sincerely solid children, but on the other hand a strong asset for overpowered guardians need more empathy and less pressure. Guardians have for quite some time been sold a model of childrearing that essentially doesn't work. From remuneration outlines to breaks, numerous well known nurturing approaches depend on shaping way of behaving, not raising people. These methods don't construct the abilities kids need forever or represent their complex feelings. Add to that guardians' confounded associations with their own childhoods, and it's not difficult to see the reason why such countless overseers feel lost, wore out, and stressed they're bombing their children. Offering point of view moving nurturing standards and investigating for explicit situations - including kin competition, fear of abandonment, fits of rage, and that's just the beginning - Good Parenting is a far reaching asset for an age of guardians searching for a better approach to bring up their children while as yet setting them up for a long period of self-guideline, certainty, and versatility.
