Demon, Official Beastkeeper to the Gods, is transported to the stables under the sea in Poseidon's watery kingdomTaking care of the stables up on Mount Olympus is one thing, but when Poseidon, god of the seas, takes Demon to his underwater realm to cure some sick hippocamps, the young stable boy is pretty fed up.

Eagle is the only one who can soothe the three-tongued serpent who guards the spring of eternal youth at the source of the River Styx - and Psyche needs 'just a little jug' of water from it to erase Aphrodite's (non-existent) wrinkles and win the chance of marrying her son, Eros.

But nothing Demon does has any effect, and Asgard is a strange place - he must contend with Fafnir the ice dragon, ravenous and dangerous Fenrir the wolf and, worst of all, the treacherous trickster god Loki, who is determined to cause mischief.
