  • - Subvolume B: Electrical Conductivities and Equilibria of Electrochemical Systems - Part 2: Deep Eutectic Solvents and Electrolyte Solutions
    av Rudolf Holze
    66 880,-

Electrochemistry is the basis of many important and modern applications and scientific developments such as nanoscale machining (fabrication of miniature devices with three dimensional control in the nanometer scale), electrochemistry at the atomic scale, scanning tunneling microscopy, transformation of energy in biological cells, selective electrodes for the determination of ions, and new kinds of electrochemical cells, batteries and fuel cells. In particular the latter point has increased the need for fundamental data of electrochemical systems in recent years, to enable academic and corporate institutions to conduct thorough and forward-thinking research. The present volume IV/9B2 comprises data on the ionic conductance of deep eutectic systems and electrolyte solutions. Definitions and an overview on theory and measurement methods are to be found in the previous volume IV/9B1.

  • - Supplement to Volume III/47
    av Christian Wohlfarth
    43 516,-

The present volumes comprises data on optical constants of non-electrolyte systems, comprising pure liquids and binary liquid mixtures at normal pressure. The data contain refractive indices as a function of temperature, wavelength and - for binary mixtures - of composition at normal pressure.

  • - Magnetic Susceptibility Data - Part 3
    av R.T. Pardasani
    112 966,-

With the objective to collate the enormous amount of information on magnetic susceptibility parameters of a very large number of a variety of skeletons and present it in a form that can readily be retrieved and used, a new pattern is being introduced with the present volume keeping in view that now a majority of research groups look at the scientific data electronically. All the magnetic properties of each individual substance are listed as a single document which is self explainable and allowing search in respect of substance name, synonyms, common vocabulary, and even structure. It is hoped that the new pattern will facilitate greater accessibility of magnetic data.

Surface tension of liquids determine fundamental chemical and physical properties and applications. Cleansing agents, soldering agents, pharmalogical substances and biomechanical phenomena all rely on surface tensions and their deliberate modifications, so that a collection of reliable data will be of interest for users in science, research and engineering. This supplement volume contains surface tensions of non-electrolyte material systems, as well as surface tensions data of pure liquids and binary liquid mixtures at normal temperatures.

The present volume I/25H is providing new data (excitation energies, spin-parities, half-lifes, branching ratios, cross-sections, spectroscopic factors, etc.) for nuclei with atomic numbers Z ranging from 54 (Xe) to 105 (Db) published in 2013-2014, thus updating previous compilations provided in the Landolt-B├╢rnstein volumes I/25A-F. The data presented are collected from all kinds of nuclear reactions, including data for nuclei far from the stability line. Since the time of collection of data for the volumes I/25A-F many new data appeared from new measurements and evaluations. The properties of excited nuclear states are of importance for scientific and practical applications. No systematic compilation of such data has been performed so far. The present compilation has been prepared by two eminent experts in the field. One of the characteristics of Landolt-B├╢rnstein is that data are evaluated before they are accepted for compilation. The idea is to present ΓÇÿbest valuesΓÇÖ which can be used with confidence by non-experts. In view of the large amount of data availablesome of the information is given only on the online platform SpringerMaterials.

  • - Supplement to Volume IV/17
    av Ch. Wohlfarth

The storage of electric energy depends on the capacity of the associated electrical components. The material''s dielectric constant directly governs this capacity. Dielectric constants therefore gain renewed attention with the increasing need of saving, accumulating and delivering energy produced in the most various ways (wind energy, solar energy, feed-back energy etc.).This supplementary volume contains static dielectric constants as a function of temperature, and - for the binary mixtures - as a function of composition. The focus lies on non-electrolyte systems and pure and binary liquid mixtures at normal pressure.
