The smart grid also encompasses IoT technologies, which monitor transmission lines, manage substations, integrate renewable energy generation. Through these technologies, the authorities can smartly identify outage problems, and intelligently schedule the power generation and delivery to the customers. Furthermore, the smart grid should teach us a valuable lesson that security must be designed in from the start of any IoT deployment. 

The 28 full papers were selected from 64 submissions and cover a variety of network paradigms including mobile ad hoc networks, sensor networks, vehicular networks, underwater networks, airborne networks, underground networks, personal area networks, device-to-device (D2D) communications in 5G cellular networks, and home networks.
