Allen Frost's first novel written in the mid-1980s while still in college is an apocalyptic, Old Testament travel through 1960s America in a Cadillac with a stained-glass windshield. The Last Paper Stars is Allen Frost's 30th published book! This time, Good Deed Rain excavates three manuscripts from the vault, when the author was in his 20s. This book features three related adventures. The first is "The Last Frankenstein" inspired by minimum wage jobs. The next section is "Paper Guide" about a fantasy library. The final part of the book is a sort of science fiction called "Stars Become Sand When They Land" with a girl who survives Seattle with the help of friend made of car parts. A collection of writing about some of my favorite subjects, from B-movies to Brautigan. My interest in writing essays began against all odds in college, with an essay on Chaucer and Willie Mays. These essays will take the reader into unexpected worlds of poetry, poverty row pictures, revolutionaries, reincarnation, beauty and beasts. A carnival ride for all readers.

There's something going on in this country and I can best relate it in fable: the parable of the rabbits, a bedtime story, and the diary of our Ohio trip. This summer, I turned the channels and watched the wild rabbits in our yard; a lesson that led to an uncovered dream, and travel to another world. A book of hope and compassion for everyone.

This is a collection of linked stories, thinking about what makes us animals. Readers will meet coyote, crow, rabbit, bat, raccoon, bee, chicken, frog, snail, owl, as well as reappearing human friends. Sometimes I hear an early morning bird playing a little unusual, like Thelonious Monk in a piano tree, and that's how I'd like these almost animals to be.

A winter book of poetry and prose that tells the tale of life on 32nd Street in the Pacific Northwest. This adventure begins with a poem section "The Blue Remains," turns into short stories "Meanwhile, in the Planetarium," and concludes with a childhood memory "Donald Sleep." For three cold, wet months I waited for the next transmission and kept record of them on paper. I'd like to present these 109 messages to you now, in hopes that wherever you are the sun is shining (unless it's nighttime of course).

A little novel set in black and white like one of those old European movies about death and life. This book stars Rudolph and his opposite Simone who circle a small lake, observing the blue glows that wander the woods, the shores and the waters.Back in high school I would go to the Neptune Theatre every week. Driving the floating bridge over Lake Washington or going Lake City Way, looking for parking, sometimes under a leafy tree, sometimes on the slant by the IHOP. The Neptune had a green neon sign that floated out front. Inside, you bought your ticket from a boat shaped counter and then you could go up to the balcony. That's where I met Fellini, Bergman, Cocteau, and I wanted this adventure to be an homage to them, a sort of European black and white movie book. This idea began during a hellish summer when forest fires turned our air into a white smog and the sun was dim as an orange penny. A Martian world, it was hard to even breathe out there. But by September it started to clear and I began to take walks around the lake. I still had a couple weeks away from my office job and I liked to think this would be my morning routine when I finally retire. I would begin every day with a walk around the lake.
