  • - The Possible Drug-Related Origins
    av Carl E Miller
    200,-

Mythology and Folklore go hand-in-hand in many ways, but the same can arguably be said with the connection to psychedelic drugs. Many theories have gained momentum throughout the years, with some of the more widely accepted ones focusing on the origins of Christmas or even witchcraft. But just how true are these theories, and what drugs may have played a role? Several famous ethnobotanists and ethnomycologists have argued that Amanita muscaria mushrooms played a significant role - and likely rightfully so. So with this book, I highlight many of these possible theories surrounding folklore and mythology, and their possible drug-related origins. I will cover nearly everything that you can think of, including; Gnomes, Dwarves, Elves, Santa Claus, Christmas, Fairies, Leprechauns, Aliens, Ghosts, Grim Reaper, Witches, Wizards, Jesters, Jokers, Clowns, Viking Berserkers, God of Thunder, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Alice in Wonderland, Seahorses, Unicorns, Mermaids and more. I will also be covering many of the different psychedelic drugs that may have been used, such as; Amanita muscaria mushrooms, opioids, black henbane, Egyptian Lotus, Sarpa Salpa and more. I will be using mostly vintage illustrations along the way, to help better highlight the talking points. So with that being said, let's begin.

Amanita muscaria mushrooms have a very long history of psychedelic use, but as of recently they've been combined and/or compared with Delta-9 and other cannabinoids. Now, this is rather ironic, at least to me. I say this, because Amanita muscaria mushrooms actually have an odd interaction with marijunana cannabinoids, besides the legality aspect. To be more specific, the interaction that I'm talking about is between muscimol (the main psychoactive compound in Amanita muscaria mushrooms) and cannabinoids from marijuana plants. Now, some of you may have come to this conclusion already, and rightfully so. This has been documented in studies dating back to at least the 1980s. But for some reason or another, these studies have been largely buried. Apparently those who didn't miss the memo, were the manufacturers making the Amanita muscaria + cannabinoid gummies. Maybe you're one of the unlucky ones who only tried Amanita muscaria by itself, and was confused to read reports of people experiencing visual hallucinations from their gummy experience. Now, Amanita muscaria mushrooms alone can produce very interesting psychedelic results, namely a trance-like state of mind with altered perception of reality (including very vivid and lucid dreams). But if you want an experience that is more closely related to a true "magic mushroom" trip, then combining muscimol with cannabinoids is the key to this world. I personally view this as one of the top ten psychedelic discoveries of the last few decades, so I was truly shocked to see it rarely discussed publicly. I touched on this topic, briefly, in my first and second small book about these mushrooms. Then a month after my second book was published, an article online was just published also speculating about it. I wish I would've trusted my instinct more initially, but that was back when my suspicions were just a hunch. However, now I have the proof - so no more speculation. We have entered a new psychedelic era, so psychonauts rejoice!

  • - An Up-Close Look at the Final Stages of Outlaw Country Music

A few excerpts from this book have been previously published in the short story "Out of the Ordinary, in Ohio", and has since been reimagined entirely and expanded greatly. "Last of a Dying Breed" was named one of the best new Country Music audiobooks by @BookAuthority! Winston, a journalist from Tennessee is given an assignment to travel to Ohio in order to cover the live music scene and visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where the famous Johnny Cash tour bus has remained parked for years. Initially he struggles to find a concert that's worth attending and instead becomes entangled with some very strange people. Winston then finds himself diving very deep into the Cleveland underground scene, before ultimately pitching the magazine company an idea that he would not only set out to cover the final stages of Outlaw Country Music, but Country music in general as we approach the 100 year anniversary. After getting approval from the magazine, Winston eventually luck's out and finds himself right at home attending a concert to see the legendary David Allan Coe perform live.
