This is the story of Charles Blonde; just an ordinary person living in an otherwise normal but exceptionally crowded city deep within Antarctica. Politics is scary enough, but then there are demons, a national church run by vampires, and his boss, who turns into a penguin from hell. At least he doesn't have to worry about what to wear at the start of every day.

This book celebrates Professor Thanos Antoulas's 70th birthday, marking his fundamental contributions to systems and control theory, especially model reduction and, more recently, data-driven modeling and system identification.
