Only 22,000 people have completed the Marathon des Sables since its inception in 1986. The medal remains the property of a very exclusive club. For my 60th birthday, I set about being awarded the medal I so coveted, completing six marathons in five days, during the hottest MdS ever recorded. This book is about how I went about navigating that journey. Entering Elderhood, I realise that it's time to be seen and heard.
