  • - Ruth: Ancestor of Christ Esther: the Queen Who Saved Her People
av D Min Paula Massie Oneal
    261

This user-friendly double volume is a chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse commentary on the only two books of the Bible that were named for women: Ruth and Esther. Information from both the books of Ruth and Esther, as well as other books of the Bible has been included. Quotes from a variety of biblical scholars and secular sources have also been used to explain and clarify ancient history, customs, and geography, as well as to verify the authors' narratives. This book is suitable for private devotions and Bible study groups. The Book of Ruth tells a wonderful story of God's provision for His people. In it, we see His provision for Ruth and Naomi. But as this new commentary by my friend Paula Oneal will reveal, behind the details of this story lies an even bigger story. For in His provision for Ruth, God was providing a king for Israel (David), and even more importantly, a Savior for His Church (Jesus Christ). Once again, Paula has done believers a great service in giving us a useful tool for understanding this marvelous story of God's grace. -Rev. Mike Moreau, Pastor, Central Presbyterian Church (PCA), Kingstree, SC. Again, Dr. Oneal gives us an outstanding source of information to continue our study of the Bible. This commentary is an excellent resource for those who want to grow in their understanding of the Book of Esther. I highly recommend this book by Paula Oneal. -The Rev. Bert Daly, Rector, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Starke, Florida Dr. Paula Oneal unpacks the books of Ruth and Esther skillfully, helping the reader see God's sovereign hand in the midst of adversity and bad choices. This commentary would act as a good addition to any library in furthering studies of the Redeemer. -Nicholas Sommer, Director of Youth and Family, Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA), Blairsville, Ga. THE CHRISTIAN AUTHOR AWARDS BOOK CONTEST FALL 2019: FIRST PLACE WINNER IN CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY This is a chapter-by- chapter, verse-by-verse commentary on THE BOOK OF ACTS, the fifth book of the New Testament. Quotes from other books of the Bible, biblical scholars, and secular sources have been used to verify Luke's narrative. This book is appropriate for private devotions as well as Bible study groups. • - The Continuing Acts of Christ, Through the Apostles, Inspired by the Holy Spirit
av D Min Paula Massie Oneal
    327

“Like the rest of the Bible, in the book of Acts, God is the main character, and the acts that Luke records here are not primarily the acts of the Apostles but the acts of the Holy Spirit as He continues to work through feeble and sinful men to bring glory to Christ and His church. The Gospel of Luke only tells half of the story, the story of Christ’s humiliation, but in this second half, we begin to see the beginnings of a glorious future in which every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  —Pastor Larry Bowlin, Associate Pastor, The Presbyterian Church of Coventry (PCA), Coventry, CT.“The Book of Acts by Paula Oneal describes convincingly in great detail that it is our story today to live for Christ, in Christ, and through Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Day of Pentecost has arrived: Receive Gods Holy Spirit and go to proclaim Gods kingdom now for every one through preaching, teaching, healing and witnessing His love. Paula challenges the church by her study to be ACTS today! I recommend this thorough and relevant study of the Book of Acts.”  —Rev. Dr. Sharon Gottfried Lewis, Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Southwest Florida, Founder and Executive director of Amazing Love Healing Ministry.“I highly recommend this commentary on The Book of Acts by Dr. Oneal. It is a wonderful resource for those beginning to study the book of Acts as well as for those who would like to continue their studies.” —The Rev. Bert Daly, Rector, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Starke, Florida.“My friend and sister in Christ, Paula Oneal, has written a commentary of Acts that is very user-friendly. My prayer is that it will become a resource for both private devotions and Bible study groups in the local church. Paula has done a great service for the body of Christ. Soil Deo Gloria!”  —Rev. Mike Moreau, Pastor, Covenant Presbyterian Church, Rockingham, NC.
