Kisses in the Wind begins with attorney Neil Myers recuperating at home from his latest psychiatric relapse. At the time, Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are involved in an intense struggle to be the Democratic Party presidential nominee. A decision about seating Michigan delegates angers Hillary's female supporters. Neil takes this to mean there will be severe female retaliation, which casts him into another mental relapse. Neil believes that men's relevance in the world is slipping. He was once a criminal attorney who switched to representing men in lopsided divorce and child custody cases. When one of his disgruntled clients killed his children's mothers and wounded the female judge in the courtroom, Neil blames her unreasonable ruling in the case as the cause of the shootings. That incident sent Neil for psychiatric treatment and he has never been the same. In his present state of mind, he finds that his fears are being realized. Women have rebelled and are now in total control of the U.S. and most of the world. Forbes Skinner was born in Guyana, South America. He moved to the United States in June 2001. Kisses In The Wind was conceptualized and completed as a screenplay that same year. Forbes has been writing for more than thirty years, putting together radio serials and stage plays in Guyana. He is now part of a screenplay writing group in Richardson, Texas. The author has contributed more than 100 human interest articles and letters to the Stabroek News newspaper in Guyana. This book reflects my personal harrowing experiences in the chainsaw logging industry, operating from Ituni, Upper Demerara River, Guyana. It is indicative of the difficulties, compounded by limited resources and capital, which affect small businesses. It shows that there is more to success than the drive and resolve to succeed. The book details interactions with workers, lending institutions, lumber dealers, the Guyana Forestry Commission, politicians, and of course, the people of Ituni. The logging business made an impact on the full gamut of my emotions - joy, pain, satisfaction, disappointment and despair. The journey stretched me way beyond what I thought I was capable, but greatly shaped the way I perceived life and business subsequently. The book is filled with adventure, suspense and action. There is hardly a dull moment, making the book a lot more than logging itself. It is a perfect representation of life and living in an underdeveloped country of the world.
