    Ursprungligen är Äventyren med Tintin en serie seriestrippar skapade av den belgiska konstnären Georges Rémi, som skrev under pseudonymen Hergé. Serien debuterade på franska i Le Petit Vingtième, en barnbilaga till den belgiska tidningen Le Vingtième Siècle, den 10 januari 1929. Seriens framgång ledde till att de följande stripparna samlades i en serie om tjugofyra album, blev en framgångsrik tidning och anpassades till film och teater. Handlingen utspelar sig under en huvudsakligen realistisk 1900-talsperiod, och huvudpersonen i serien är Tintin, en ung belgisk reporter. Han assisteras i sina äventyr från början av sin hund, Snöy.
