Jack Donaldson's work in WWII was logistics in most of the areas of war. He helped to get supplies through Persia/Iran to the Russians who drew the Germans to their fate in that vast intractable land and withstood sieges during 3 years of the war. Their resistance turned the tide of the Second World War and made the allied victory possible.
