This book provides a detailed history of the rise and fall the House of Strachan (c. 1203-1350) based on charters, grants, and reliable antiquarian sources. This book also debunks many myths and speculations regarding the ancient House of Strachan, and provides a very powerful argument the Strachan Family were baronial freeholders of the barony of Strachan, and vassals of the crown until they were disinherited by King Robert de Bruce on 1 November 1315.
Mr Strachan was asked if he could identify or explain the illustrations in an edition of the English Great Bible of 1541. Some were simple, others quite baffling. He set out to discover their meaning and history, and succeeded in tracing their derivation.
