While creating this cookbook Jennifer was able to look back and be reminded of the long-standing tradition in her family where women gathered in the kitchen cooking and creating together. Whether it was in the kitchen or around the table for everyday meals, special dinners, or holidays, the family always worked together and therefore even tasks like doing dishes never seemed like work. She is proud to be able to share some of those memories, traditions and recipies with others through the pages of this cookbook.

In 1989, at 22 years of age, Jennifer French was carjacked, raped and nearly killed in San Francisco, California. She had a miraculous Near Death Experience, survived to tell her story about crossing over to another dimension and offers hope to other survivors with PTSD.

How do we as educators allow students to creatively express themselves, support them academically, and prepare them for a professional world built on written and verbal communication? This text will alleviate the concerns of those who are worried about the disintegration of the English language and help them find strategies to support learners.

In this text a group of student teachers share their candid questions, concerns, dilemmas and lessons learned about how to teach for social justice and social change. There are examples of how Linda Darling-Hammond and her students integrated diversity within a teacher education programme.
