When we look at the Bible, we see that the New Testament Church has two main offices that are primary functions within the local church. We see that the church in Jerusalem appointed Deacons to oversee the daily distribution of food and we see that Paul and Barnabas appointed Elders in the cities where they established churches. These two offices, working together within the context of a local congregation, are the backbone of the local, visible church.

The Lord's Supper The Lord's Table The Eucharist Communion Whichever name it is known by it is all the same when it is done Biblically. Jesus instituted two ordinances to be commemorated by the Church. The first ordinance that a believer observes is baptism. This ordinance sets the believer apart as a member of the Church, that is the overall body of Christ. The second ordinance that a believer observes is the Lord's Supper, sometimes called Communion. This is the taking of bread and wine (or juice, depending on your outlook on alcoholic beverages) in memory of the new covenant that was sealed by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Join me on this journey through Scripture and history as we shed light on the Lord's Supper.

What is the Trinity? In this book we will open the Bible and the doors of history to explore this important doctrine of the Church. We will also take a brief look at some of the heresies that plague the church today around this doctrine.

It is my desire to help those called to this important ministry to be the absolute best that they can possibly be.

In this booklet we will answer the following questions: What is baptism? Who should be baptized? How is baptism to be administered? What is the duty of those who are baptized? It is my prayer that those who read this booklet will gain understanding of baptism that they may not have had before reading, and they will be equipped to answer questions regarding baptism should they be asked at any time in the future. I also hope that this booklet will be a tool that churches use to help prepare those who are ready, or being made ready, to be baptized.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all wrote gospel accounts highlighting the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth. However, hundreds of years prior to these writings another man took up his pen and wrote words, fifteen verses as they appear in our Bible today, that briefly outline the same life from a different perspective. That man was Isaiah. In this book we go through Isaiah 53 and break down the prophecy of the Suffering Servant. We discover why the Servant can only be Jesus of Nazareth. We learn what happened to Him when He came to earth the first time. We uncover the truth of the Cross and what it means for us as believers. Martyn Lloyd-Jones wrote, "To me the work of preaching is the highest, and the greatest, and the most gracious calling, glorious calling to which anyone can ever be called." John Wycliffe wrote, "The highest service that men may attain to on Earth is to preach the Word of God." In this book, I endeavor to give preachers and teachers of the Word of God an overview of sermon preparation, from Scripture selection to sermon delivery. The sermon we are looking at in this book, what is commonly referred to as the Sermon on the Mount, occurred at the beginning of Jesus's ministry, when He was about thirty years old. Jesus has just recently been baptized by John at the Jordan River, then He spent forty days and nights fasting in the wilderness and undergoing temptation. After the temptation, we see Him going through the region of Galilee where He comes across, and calls four fishermen, the first of His disciples: Peter, Andrew, James, and John. These five men then go throughout Galilee, into synagogues, where Jesus teaches, and through the streets and roads where He preaches to and heals people. Vast multitudes of people hear about this extraordinary man who is able to heal people just by touching them, so the people start to flow into Galilee. Not only are the people from Galilee coming, but Matthew tells us they were coming from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan. (Matthew 4:25) One day this large crowd following Jesus goes up a mountain with Him and He sits down. His four called disciples come closer to Him so they can be sure they hear what He is about to say. A hush falls over the crowd as they wait with eagerness.

In this book, A Catechism for the Church, we will delve into the depths of the Christian religion and learn what has been taught through the centuries. This book is a modern language version of the classic Westminster Shorter Catechism, although taken from a believer's baptism point of view when it comes to the issue of baptism, and includes the verses of Scripture for each answer. This is done so you and your family can come together and work through the catechism and search the Scriptures to see that the truth is being taught and learned.
