This comprehensive book on desalination includes both conventional and recently developed approaches. It covers the fundamentals of various desalination processes as well as their applications, technical aspects, energy, and economics. The two major desalination categories, thermal and membrane-based technologies, are discussed extensively, and individual chapters are devoted to specific technologies or groups of technologies such as multi-stage flashing, multi-effect distillation, electrodialysis and electrodialysis reversal, and reverse osmosis.
