Jeck Murtsharn, deposed queen Ashira Aeshar, and the rest of the diverse crew of the Dawnstrider have entered into an alliance with Shi'tra and the pirate crew of the Ravusqan Raider. Rather than get caught in the crossfire they each work to spread knowledge of the unusual attackers - while still practicing business as usual. Alvon Gargarm, freed from his enslavement, joins DDI Hectir and the Cosmic Security Agency. Together, they do all they can to assemble the puzzle pieces of multiple interplanetary situations. Merchant and information broker Avra Pii K'tark'ah has found key information about who the invaders are - but not why they have come.
