The themes of the symposium papers include identity, manifested in the emergence and increasingly wide usage of Mizrahi in place of Sephardic; the invigoration ofSephardic Judaism; and the emergence of Sephardic politics in Israeli politics; and the tensions between Sephardim and Ashkenazim. As is standard for the series, this volume contains review essays and book reviews.
