Thyroidectomy is a surgical procedure that causes postoperative pain, which warrants analgesic treatment.Bilateral superficial cervical block is a locoregional anaesthesia technique that specifically targets the cervical region, and thus the thyroid gland in particular.It has the advantage of being technically simple and uncomplicated.Many teams are interested in this technique, and some have already demonstrated the efficacy of this block in this indication, while others have concluded that there is no beneficial effect.We conducted this study to assess the analgesic efficacy of the superficial cervical block performed prior to thyroid surgery, and the frequency of adverse events associated with the block and/or the use of analgesics.

A tiroidectomia é um procedimento cirúrgico que provoca dor pós-operatória, o que justifica um tratamento analgésico.O bloqueio cervical superficial bilateral é uma técnica de anestesia loco-regional que envolve especificamente a região cervical e, por conseguinte, a glândula tiroide em particular.Tem a vantagem de ser tecnicamente simples e sem complicações.Muitas equipas estão interessadas nesta técnica e algumas já demonstraram a eficácia deste bloqueio nesta indicação, enquanto outras concluíram que não existe qualquer efeito benéfico.Realizámos este estudo com o objetivo de avaliar a eficácia analgésica do bloqueio cervical superficial realizado antes da cirurgia da tiroide, bem como a frequência de ocorrência de efeitos indesejáveis relacionados com a realização do bloqueio e/ou com a utilização de produtos analgésicos.

La tiroidectomia è un intervento chirurgico che provoca dolore postoperatorio, che giustifica un trattamento analgesico.Il blocco cervicale superficiale bilaterale è una tecnica di anestesia loco-regionale che coinvolge specificamente la regione cervicale e quindi la tiroide in particolare.Ha il vantaggio di essere tecnicamente semplice e priva di complicazioni.Molti team sono interessati a questa tecnica e alcuni hanno già dimostrato l'efficacia di questo blocco in questa indicazione, mentre altri hanno concluso che non c'è alcun effetto benefico.Abbiamo condotto questo studio con l'obiettivo di valutare l'efficacia analgesica del blocco cervicale superficiale eseguito prima della chirurgia tiroidea, nonché la frequenza di comparsa di effetti indesiderati legati all'esecuzione del blocco e/o all'uso di prodotti analgesici.

Perioperative anxiety is a frequent phenomenon among patients. It is even more pronounced in patients undergoing AR, especially in the orthopedic OR, where noise levels are alarmingly high, and are therefore responsible for increasing the stress and anxiety felt by the patient. Various pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches have been developed, but premedication remains the most widely used. However, because of its undesirable effects, various studies have tried to find an alternative, namely TM. The latter is a non-pharmacological, risk-free and low-cost approach, and has proved its efficacy in several studies.The aim of our study was to evaluate the contribution of TM on perioperative anxiety during scheduled orthopedic surgery of the lower limb under AR.
