A deadly virus sweeps through the country, leaving Mark alone to face the new world. He has no idea why the disease spared him when so many others have died, but if he wants to stay alive, he needs to prepare. With survivors scarce and unsure who to trust, he begins collecting food and water, but as his stores grow, others will come for him. As bands of marauders reach his neighborhood stripping it of anything useful, Mark fortifies his house and stays hidden. He rescues them thus entangling himself in an assassination attempt with international ties. With repeated efforts to kill the diplomat the man tasks Danny with keeping his daughter, Natalia, safe. He sneaks her away to a remote area but it doesn't take him long to realize there is something more going on. Though hundreds of miles away from her father they are still being pursued. As the killers close in, Danny discovers the diplomat isn't the target. The assassins belong to an international terrorist cell and Natalia's safety has national security importance. Over matched and outgunned, Danny must find a way to keep them both safe until the feds can arrive but with time running out and nowhere left to hide, he must put his life in jeopardy for a woman he barely knows and isn't what she pretends to be.

The boys soon come to realize that the only way to survive is to trust each other and work together as the team Coach Eddie has been trying to get them to be all season. But with time running out for them to return home and the kingdom to survive, a dangerous plan is enacted. However, getting home is only part of the problem. They first must battle an evil lord, his wizards, and a massive army.
