Using self-portraiture, autoethnography and autobiography, the author draws together the varied experiences of a group of art teachers to explore issues, including identity, learning environment and the nature of the teacher/learner relationship.

This volume seeks to build a bridge between theoretical and practical issues in art education. The theoretical areas consider such questions as: why teach art? and the practical areas draw out the implications of the answers.
