Smart grid is the conception of use of digital information. It controls technology to improve reliability, security, and efficiency of the existing electric grid with dynamic optimization of grid operations and resources, with full cyber-security. Smart grid deployment and integration of distributed resources and generation includes renewable resources for development and incorporation of demand response, demand-side resources, and energy-efficiency resources. So, presently Smart Grid Technology became a hot issues. This book is based on the research of Smart Grid Technology with Smart devices and Smart applications for Smart Cities for digital India.

This book describes the solar power and piezoelectric based energy optimization and appliances control. The increase in energy consumption of portable electronic devices and the concept of harvesting renewable energy in human surrounding arouses a renewed interest. This book focuses on one of such advanced methods of energy harvesting using solar cell and piezoelectric material. Piezoelectric materials can be used as mechanisms to transfer mechanical energy, usually ambient vibration, into electrical energy that can be stored and used to power other devices. A solar tracker is used in various systems for the improvement of harnessing of solar radiation. The problem posed is the implementation of a system which is capable of enhancing production of power by 30-40%. The control circuit is implemented by the microcontroller. The control circuit then positions the motor that is used to orient the solar panel optimally.

This book highlights the wiring and installation design of a G+4 Buildings with applications of IOT based devices. With increasing population large space is required. From this concept the multi storied residential buildings are introduced into the society. This work discusses how to calculate overall wiring and installation design cost of a multi storied residential building with a common pump for G+4.
