"History of the Prophet Joseph, by means of His Mother" is a extremely good autobiographical work penned by using Lucy Mack Smith, the mom of Joseph Smith Jr., the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). This influential book affords a completely unique and intimate perspective at the life and early stories of Joseph Smith, in addition to the challenges and triumphs of the Smith family. Lucy Smith's narrative starts along with her circle of relatives's religious journey and their eventual conversion to the beliefs of the LDS Church. She chronicles the early years of Joseph Smith, his encounters with heavenly messengers, and the interpretation of the Book of Mormon, a foundational textual content of the LDS Church. The book also discusses the family's trials and persecution as they sought to set up their faith within the face of competition. This firsthand account gives readers a deeper knowledge of the private sacrifices and unwavering religion of the Smith family within the tumultuous early days of the LDS Church. Lucy Smith's storytelling style is each engaging and informative, providing precious ancient insights into the origins of Mormonism and the man or woman of Joseph Smith as visible via the eyes of his dedicated mother.

For many, the effective and appropriate communication of emotions comes easily. Attachment bonds with our care-givers teach us how to acknowledge, identify, and talk about emotions, experiences and traumatic experiences. By using these skills we relieve stress by integrating thoughts with feelings, forming a narrative of our story, and lending structure to the experiences. By doing this we process our emotions and thus move it from explicit to implicit memory. In essence, we move on. What about those who lack sufficient attachment, who have not been taught how to identify emotions much less talk about them? Or those who block their emotions and traumatic experiences in the attempt to protect themselves? These people often experience their stress in the form of unexplained physiological ill-health and psychological distress. This book compares emotional self-disclosure in a group of people attending a mental health day hospital with a group from the general population in order to establish whether differences occur and what these may be. It also considers whether and how emotional disclosure is linked to physical and psychological ill-health within the day hospital attenders.
