Sans parler de la boussole, qüils possèdent et emploient aux mêmes usages que nous depuis trente siècles, de la poudre de guerre que les Arabes leur ont empruntée et qüils nous ont transmise, je dirai que, dès l¿an 593 de cotre ère, ils ont p.II commencé à répandre, par la gravure sur bois, les chefs-d¿¿uvre de la peinture, du dessin et de la littérature (invention que jusqüici l¿on n¿avait reconnue en Chine que cinq cents ans plus tard)1.
