Tired of the romancing of vampires messing around in around in the sheets, when they should be haunting our dreams? Blood Heritage returns to beheading bloodsuckers with two modern female Van Helsings. Vampires are real. But they are not like any Hollywood version wearing capes and espousing "mwah-hah-hah-ing." They lack fangs but not the thirst. These vampires suffer from a disease and need to ingest blood to survive. They don't burst into flames in the sun, nor can they transform into bats, but they do gain super strength, healing and longevity by ingesting blood. After storming the beaches of Normandy Corporal Jack Carlyle is captured during a raid on a Nazi bunker. Along with several other captured GIs, Jack encounters two vampires. One works for the Nazis to create a serum to create a super soldier using the blood of the second vampire. During their escape, Jack receives a mortal wound and the second vampire, Boleslav uses the serum to heal Jack and together they destroy the bunker. Jack passes away of extreme old age and leaves an unexpected gift of land outside of town to his granddaughter, Larsen. Faced with the knowledge her grandfather wasn't who she thought, Larsen must choose which path to follow. She can remain in her nowhere town or embrace the hidden world of hunting vampires. Her choice complicates further when she meets the mysterious and sexy Tawnie who knows more than she's sharing. Larsen is thrown into a new reality that claims vampires are real and human relationships can be more open and confusing than she's expecting. After surviving an unexpected and bloody encounter at a truckstop, Larsen and Tawnie continue with college and training in boxing and martial arts to prepare themselves to hunt vampires. Tracking down and eliminating vampires proves more difficult than expected, as the bloodsuckers are not behaving the same as the ones Jack hunted. Facing vampires that have evolved to utilize technology and work together, both girls realize they each have life-changing or ending secrets that will destroy the friendship they have cultivated.
