London Interiors? The most inspiring interiors in beautiful cities all over the worldFrom richly decorative to coolly pared-back, London homes are always unexpected. Behind the front doors of the city's ubiquitous terraces lies a wealth of design inspiration, while seemingly inhospitable buildings, whether converted gin distilleries, concrete new builds or former dairies, have been given fresh life thanks to the city's famously creative inhabitants.Over the years, multiple influences have inspired the capital's design sensibility, including the relaxed elegance pioneered by Colefax and Fowler in the mid-twentieth century, the simple, softly modern rooms of Terence Conran a decade or two later and the restrained schemes of interior architects such as John Minshaw. More recently its interiors have favoured a return to a playful, loosened up look: blowsy florals, clashing colours, vibrant prints and plenty of frills and fringing.London Interiors captures all of these influences and celebrates the cosmopolitan nature of a truly diverse city.

Important: This book is the 18th book in our Superhero Universe! One fateful day, 15-year-old Jordan Morris set out to the shopping mall with a simple mission: to pick up a cake for his younger brother's birthday. Little did he know that this seemingly ordinary outing would thrust him into a nightmarish ordeal. Explosions shattered the tranquility of the mall, bullets filled the air, and chaos reigned. In the midst of this madness, a sinister figure known as 'The Naughty Soul' emerged, his aim to sow discord and anarchy throughout the city. 'The Naughty Soul' was a man unhinged by unspeakable tragedy-his family had been cruelly taken from him in a heart-wrenching shooting incident. Now, he sought vengeance against a society he believed had failed him, resorting to violence to underscore the urgent need for gun control reform. Jordan managed to survive the horrifying ordeal, but the scars of that day would linger. A little later, destiny led Jordan to New Vazuno, the majestic city ruled by King Aessoid, as part of a school excursion. A twist of fate awaited him as a gravity-defying accident bestowed upon him incredible superpowers. Yet, as 'The Naughty Soul' continued to wreak havoc in the streets of Chicago, Jordan found himself faced with a life-altering decision. Amidst the chaos, villains closing in on him, and both the police and the enigmatic T.O.P.A.H. organization hot on his trail, he must choose whether to rise as a hero or remain in the shadows.

    - A comprehensive overview of S.H. Raza's life and work - Featuring over 250 works from Raza's oeuvre - Includes previously unpublished letters and notebooks offering glimpses of the master at work- Detailed chrono-biography situates Raza within the transcultural dynamics of the art worldAfter an early stint in Bombay in the 1940s, with the Progressive Artists' Group, S. H. Raza moved to France, where he spent the next 60 years. This volume explores Raza's artistic trajectory from the time of his arrival in Paris, as well as his contribution to the development of modernism in the Indian subcontinent. Raza's strong thrust towards non-figurative art, and subsequent influences from European and American modernism, combined with his memories and impressions of India, led him to a skillful negotiation between Indian spirituality and Western abstraction. Beginning with early works developed in India before 1947, the essays in this volume analyze Raza's later abstraction processes and landscapes. An anthology of previously unpublished letters offer glimpses of the master at work, and a detailed chrono-biography situates him within the transcultural dynamics of the 1950s to the 1980s. Accompanying the S.H. Raza exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in 2023, this monograph presents a compelling overview of Raza's work and the highlights of his journey. Published in association with the Raza Foundation, New Delhi and Centre Pompidou, Paris.

In partnership with the Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris, it will bring together around 30 of Morisot's most important works from international collections, many never seen before in the UK, to reveal the artist as a trailblazer of the movement as well as uncovering a previously untold connection between her work and 18th century culture, with around 20 works for comparison.A founding member of the Impressionist group, Berthe Morisot (1841-1895) was known for her swiftly painted glimpses of contemporary life and intimate domestic scenes. She featured prominently in the Impressionist exhibitions and defied social norms to become one of the movement's most influential figures. Apollo revealing his divinity to the shepherdess Issé, after François Boucher (1892), In the Apple Tree (1890) and Julie Manet with her Greyhound Laerte (1893), are among nine paintings on loan from the Musée Marmottan Monet, many receiving their first ever showing in the UK.

Picasso & Abstraction explores a hitherto rarely explored area and demonstrates the sheer power of an extraordinary imagination. From the outset of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) ranked as one of the most influential artists in the evolution of the avant-garde and abstract art. From his earliest Cubist experimentations in 1907 with Les Demoiselles d'Avignon to his late work, which occasionally verged on gestural painting, Picasso's own relationship with abstraction remains intriguing. Through small steps forward, retractions and reversals, this relationship unfolds chronologically, thus revealing the artist's back-and-forth movement between abstraction and figuration.Testifying on how this evolution unfolded in Pablo Picasso's oeuvre, several essays also address its echo in the Russian avant-garde in the 1910s, his ceramic creations in Vallauris and the resurgence of sacred art in the aftermath of the Second World War.Through a broad selection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, and etchings - most of which were chosen from the extensive collection of the Musée national Picasso-Paris - this book invites us to step inside the artist's studio to discover his creative process.

    - This first critical catalog of Jean Fautrier's paintings- Accompanies an exhibition at Christie's in Paris in February 2023Jean Fautrier (1989-1964) was a major 20th century artist. Trained at the Royal Academy of Arts and influenced by J.M.W. Turner, he was quickly noticed by the collector Jeanne Castel in 1923. At first, his style was figurative and played on contrasts of light. He expertly harnessed the essence of reality in order to transfigure it, redefining the genres of landscape painting, still lifes and nudes (especially in his series of dark works) during the inter-war period. A few years later, his approach underwent a radical shift and became much more abstract. He launched the "Informalist" art movement, playing with pictorial materials and combining different substances to create visions of an extraordinary material quality. Close to the great intellectual figures of his time, including Jean Paulhan, Paul Éluard, Francis Ponge, René Char and André Malraux, Fautrier never ceased producing remarkably powerful and politically resonant works, as is attested by his major series Otages (1943-1945), Objets (1947-1948) and Partisans (1956). In 1960, he was awarded the first prize for painting at the Venice Biennale. Boasting an exceptionally exhaustive iconography, this first ever comprehensive annotated catalogue of Jean Fautrier's paintings includes the technique, origin, exhibitions and bibliography for each work. It is supplemented with a detailed biography, technical analyses and authoritative scientific texts, as well as transcriptions of interviews and radio broadcasts from Fautrier's time.

    - A real mirror of 20th century creation, Chess Design presents an exceptional documentation on chess games made by artists, designers, architects, and craftsmen- Published to accompany an exhibition at the A. Guillemain & R. Morandi Gallery in Paris, in November 2022A real mirror of 20th century creation, Chess Design presents an exceptional documentation on chess games made by artists, designers, architects, and craftsmen: chessboards themselves, but also artist's drawings, execution plans and photographs of archives. By presenting nearly 300 of these chessboards chronologically, the author offers a new perspective on the history of art and its evolution. Art Nouveau, Secession, Surrealism, Fluxus, Pop Art, most of the great movements that are born and follow one another in the Fine Arts find an echo with these chessboards and the 16 pieces that animate them. These chess games also reflect the evolution of techniques and materials used during this period: wood, glass, ceramics will give way, from the 1950s, to steel, plastic and composite materials. At the border between the plastic arts and the decorative arts, these chessboards are made by big names in the art scene, design or architecture - Alexandre Rodtchenko, Jean-Michel Frank, Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp, Alexander Calder, or, more recently, Yoko Ono, Robert Filliou, Yayo Kusama, Victor Vasarely, Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry or Damian Hirst - as by anonymous people. The synthesis offered by the author constitutes a valuable and innovative historian's work, supported by iconography that is both rich and mostly unpublished.
