This publication concerns the archaeological excavations of the Ridge Church and the Blue Chapel at Petra (Jordan). It represents the culmination of many years of work carried out by the American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR), in coordination with the Department of Antiquities of Jordan and the Petra Park. This work was supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and many others, including members of the local communities.

Arabic for Archaeologists is a pocket-sized booklet for work in the field. It contains essential words and phrases, each presented in English, Arabic transliteration, and Arabic.

This is the final publication of the Petra Papyri Series of primary document Greek language papyrus texts from the sixth century A.D. The books provide meticulous documentation, translation and interpretation of the information recovered from approximately 140 carbonized papyrus scrolls found during the excavation of the Petra Church.
