The hypocephalus is an element of Late Period and Ptolemaic funerary equipment-an amuletic disc placed under the head of mummies. Excavation of seven turf buildings at Lair in Glen Shee confirms the introduction of Pitcarmick buildings to the hills of north-east Perth and Kinross in the early 7th century AD. The largest and brightest megalithic complex in Russia's Ural Mountains is located on Vera Island, represented by three chambered megaliths and sanctuaries of the Eneolithic period (mid-4th - 3rd millennium BC). The oldest samples of stone sculpture in the Urals have been revealed within this complex.
