This collection of English poems, 'The Butterfly of the Cage', the second transcreation by the author himself from his original Odia poetry collection 'Panjurira Prajapati' is based on varied themes and thoughts like human desire and despair, agony and aspiration, emotion and passion, rejoice and sorrow, love and hatred, belief and betrayal, sweet and sour memories, satire and irony, delusion and illusion, splendour of the nature, the philosophy of life, death and time, the untouched layers of human behaviour and instinct, apprehension for the uncertain future of man and environment due to anthropogenic activities, and even poetic representation of some scientific phenomena which rarely finds its place in poetry. Its 'Prologue' depicts an introduction to Poetry, English Poetry and Indian English Poetry which is no less than a research paper and a must read. The book is dedicated to eminent Indian poet Padma Shri Dr. Jayanta Mahapatra who passed away on August 27th, 2023.

Originally written in Odia, Night in the Metropolis and Other Stories is a classic of modern Indian literature. This captivating collection of short stories features an impressive range of the author's content, form, theme, and style. Translating Surendra Mohanty is a unique experience for various reasons. Many literary critics have unanimously agreed that Surendra Mohanty is at his creative best when he pens down his short stories. The most admirable qualities that his short stories possess is that they are not restricted to any particular theme or area; rather, they encompass an extensive variety of subject matters including history, mythology, modernity, the evolving society and the changing individual etc. The varied spectrum of themes, areas and concerns that he introduces in his stories provide him wide recognition, fame and acceptability as a writer amongst the audience. Mohanty seems to have developed a particular interest in Buddhism and its history for which he has penned some of his stories like "Pita Putra" ("Father and Son") and "Mahanirvana" ("The Salvation") and in my estimation, some of Mohanty's finest stories are in fact his stories based on Buddhism and its history.

Gunen Sarkar, a riot victim, comes to Assam in 1964 as a refugee from East Pakistan. He is separated from his wife, son, and one-year-old daughter in a forest. He settles in a small village. Despite his poverty and adverse situations, he never stops searching for his family. The NRC, which is compulsory for all citizens of Assam, creates new problems for him those who are unable to produce valid documents and get their names registered in the NRC will be put in detention camps and deported. But he has no legacy data, the most important document. What will happen to him? Will he ever find his family?

Odisha has enjoyed a symbiotic relationship with poetry and has had a long and unbroken tradition of women writing poetry. Women have made significant contribution to the canon of Odia poetry, starting from the fifteenth century to the present. Among women poets of Odisha, perhaps the earliest is Madhabi Dasi, an exponent of Bhakti poetry and a contemporary of Sri Chaitanya. She wrote in Brajboli, Bangla and Odia. Her jan¿na "Chak¿nayan he Jagujiban Srihari" was one of her most popular devotional songs in Odia. Nandabai Chauti¿¿ is another well-known poem composed by a woman from Odisha in pre-colonial times. Several women, mostly from royal families, composed devotional songs and long narrative poems in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Odisha witnessed a burst of feminine creative energy in the wake of Indian Independence which continued undiminished through the last quarter of the century and has reached a fruition in the present, when writing poetry has become almost de rigeur, where poetry reading sessions and publication have become a state-wide quotidian activity. In Our Own Voice: Poems by Odia Women Poets is an ambitious enterprise of the renowned poet, writer and playwright J. P. Das who has painstakingly culled, collected, and translated the creative outpourings of some of these women set far apart in time but geographically rooted in the state. Some of these poems were edited and translated by Das earlier and appeared in two separate anthologies, titled In Other Words (2017) and Under the Silent Sun (1992). He co-edited the latter with the Chicago-based academician Arlene Zide. The present volume contains poems from these collections as well as many other young and vibrant voices. Originally written in Odia language and meticulously translated into English by Das, these poems belong to women writers spanning nearly half a century, who come from diverse walks of life. Some of them are working professionals who hail from the world of corporate and journalism; some are fulltime writers while there are contributions from others who seem to steal time to compose verses in the interstices of their domestic chores. The poems in this volume are rich and eclectic, which range over a variety of subjects, providing a polyphony of voices and a panoply of themes. The writers in this collection straddle different worlds-a little more than five decades separate Banaja Devi and Amiyabala Muni who were born in pre-independent India circa 1941, from the youngest contributors, Tanmayee Rath and Swapnajita Sankhua, born during the pre-reform and post-liberalisation period of India, in the years 1987 and 1998 respectively. Poems collected from such a broad time spectrum would naturally bring an array of thematic concerns and preoccupations. A brief overview of the development of Odia poetry by women over the decades since India's Independence would reveal that, like all women's poetry elsewhere in the world, there is a sense of thwarted aspiration and patriarchal oppression in the early set of poets, sometimes coupled with the mildest influence of western modernism, resulting in occasional experimentation.

AME JEUNMANE is a short story collection in Odia by eminent Odia author Jagannath Prasad Das. The collection has fourteen short stories, Chithi, Bagha, Pakshi, Muhurta, Bandhana, Beshya, Curfew, Lekhaka, Sparsha, Bhagya, Photograph, Sahityakara, Budhiani Jala and Sampradaya. A must read collection.

"Letters To A Young Poet" by Rainer Maria Rilke is a prosaic work, but it refers directly to poetry. There are ten letters written to a young man about to enter the German military. In the very beginning of the 1903, Rilke received a letter from a twenty-year old lieutenant of Austro-Hungarian army Franz Kappus. Verses were enclosed to the letter: the lieutenant turned out to be a poet. Rilke answered. Rilke wrote Franz Kappus ten letters; the last of them is dated by December 1908. After Rilke's death, the letters were published in a separate book entitled "Letters To A Young Poet". Of all Rilke's extensive correspondence, these letters won the greatest popularity. It is explained by their content: there is nothing personal or private in them; Rilke wrote about the poetry, nature of poetic works, irony, loneliness, love etc. His philosophy-aesthetic views of that time are well reflected in these letters.

Tales from Shakespeare is an English children's book written by the siblings Charles and Mary Lamb in 1807, intended "for the use of young persons" while retaining as much Shakespearean language as possible.Mary Lamb was responsible for retelling the comedies and Charles the tragedies.They omitted the more complex historical tales, including all Roman plays, and modified those they chose to retell in a manner sensitive to the needs of young children, but without resorting to actual censoring. Holi is the festival of colors for Indians. It is celebrated by smearing or splashing colors on one's dear ones, transforming the everyday world into a brilliantly-hued, vibrant one. Here are seven poets of the Odia literary world, writing and celebrating as if with colors of the Rainbow that the readers would find highly enjoyable and evocable. These poets are of a highly evolved class, having practiced the sacred art form of poetry with admirable and unique styles. Counselling is an ever-expanding universe. Since we live in a world characterized as volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA World), pressures are building on our multi-faceted roles. The need for counselling is experienced for parents, teachers, administrators, and service-providers. A prominent sector of counselling service is the organizational context. With an increasing influx of women into our work force, the employees' population presents a formidable challenge. The multi-dimensionality of problems and multi-cultural context of working population the scenarios become further complicated. Fortunately, the growth of knowledge and multiplication of techniques has offered immense possibilities. The advance of neuroscience has added insights to our remediation process. Counselling principles customized to employees' needs constitute a valuable tool box in our immediate surroundings. This is Bhaumik Mohanty's second novel after 'I Did, Did I'. He continues his adventure into the world of magical realism. This sequel brings the characters to life again but with a different place, space and tone. Bhaumik has this uncanny ability to juggle between the real world and the world of imagination. KAA (Impersonation, 1956) is the literary masterpiece of the celebrated Odia novelist Kanhu Charan Mohanty. The novel deals with the subject of female infertility and maternal death. This book was received Sahitya Akademi award in 1958. Directed by Siddhartha, which is a pseudonym for Gour Prasad Ghose, Parbati Ghose, & Ram Chandra Thakur it was made into a popular feature film in 1965 with the same name and received the National Film Award for Best Feature film in Odia in 1966.

Sri Sri Thakur had cherished only one wish that He should be presented in front of the world just as He is, undistorted. In the Odia book, as well as in this English version, we have taken utmost care to see that His recorded words in various books and compilations in Bengali and English are reproduced almost verbatim. In addition to theoretical discussions, we have tried to mention in short the practice part -Initiation(Diksha), Jajan, Jaajan, Istavriti, Swastyayani and Sadachar. We always felt the presence of an unknown force inspiring and guiding us, providing us with the appropriate words and references. We pay our humble ovations to Him.
