Marriage is that social bond which is bound by different beliefs, traditions, rituals and customs according to different religion and caste. In most of the religions and castes, marriage has been considered as a ritual, which is completed after following certain customs, traditions and beliefs. By following the beliefs and traditions, a person accepts God as a witness and binds himself in a lifetime bond. Completes with vows. On the other hand, separation in married life is not complete with just a word of divorce, nor is there any such act which can be completed by merely saying a piece of paper or saying divorce. How will that relationship of a lifetime end in a moment, when the couple associated with married life has tied each other in social rites or with faith and vows to be with each other for life, even if it is Be it on the basis of social legal beliefs or on the will of the society full of rituals or on the basis of trust towards each other, then such a relation can be severed by just a paper order. The protagonist, Banamali Das of the novel was a common youth of Bijni princely state who lived during the regime of Queen Abhayeshwari, the founder of the present Abhayapuri township. He worked initially as a labourer in the construction works of the roads within the township and rose to the post of personal adviser of the Benevolent Queen. The character of Banamali and his family are non-existent and if however, anyone finds any similarity of any living or dead person(s) with the character of Banamali, it is a mere coincidence only.
