I was born in the year of our Lord 1958 in Duluth Minnesota, shortly after my birth the family moved hoping they could have a new start, from the life they were living there in Duluth I was so new to the world that they left when we got out of the hospital and headed to sunny California. Later when I was 8 years old I had my fi rst drink of alcohol and then it would rule my life until my near death experience when I was in my 30's, they said I wouldn't make it until morning, but God had dii erent plans for my life. He remembered the little boy of three years old and how he played outside of the Church, I tried to live my life my way, but it didn't work. And I would spend the rest of my years loving our Lord, He brought me through many bad things that happened to show me that we can't do everything on our own. My heart was always hurting not knowing my father and I never felt like a whole person until God came into my life, I wrote this book to help people and I hope it helps some of you reading it. My thoughts were put on these pages during the healing process of my mind and body and while I embraced the second chance God gave me at life. Should you get a second chance at life grab it with both hands and God will do many things for you, to help you through and understanding what's taking place, He loves us all and wants the best for us may God bless you all, each and every-one of you much love and peace.

"The 10 Dollar Car", by James H. McRae, Sr. is a book written to his children concerning faith, hope, promise and fulfillment. The sub-title of the book, "The Story of Ordered Steps" is taken from Psalm 37:23-24, where it is stated, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand." During the author¿s junior year in college, he asked the Lord to provide the wife for him that He desired for him. Little did he know that the Lord had prepared the wife, the people who would introduce him to his wife, along with the time and location. "The Ten Dollar Car" would be the resource that the Lord would provide in order for the author to meet his wife. The book is a story of the many adventures in the author¿s life as the Lord guided him in ways that seem miraculous, in many instances, and brought people and resources into his life in order that the Lord would be glorified. A great foundation was provided as the Lord provided a stable home situation where the father and mother were both there even though in today¿s standards, it would appear that the author and his family were living in poverty. The final two years of college for the author were accomplished as he had no money to pay tuition or room and board. Resources in the form of people, places, and material things were always provided for the author to go from one point to the other by his Father. Obtaining, maintaining and driving a car that cost $10.00 was a major feat for the author to accomplish, however, his Father continued to, "....uphold him with His hand." Many of the adventures in the book are quite hilarious, however, the Lord was always there to make sure that the author was not, ".....utterly cast down." In order for the author to complete college, he held a full-time job working from 10:00 each evening until 6:00 each morning, five days each week. On the week-ends he also worked as a dishwasher at a local restaurant. He also played in the concert and marching bands at his college and this was the scholarship that paid for the final two years of the author¿s educational fees. Through it all, his steps were ordered by His Father who would not permit him to be utterly cast down and He upheld him with His hand. There is never a dull moment. Join the author in the adventures of, "The 10 Dollar Car" as he permitted the Lord to guide him in His steps. The Lord provided faith, hope, and promise in the life of the author and He always fulfills His promises. God bless....

The outbreak of WW1 plunged the union and Canadian and Confederate forces. This joint collation with the inventions of the Wright brothers and ford was successful in defeating the Austro-Hungarian empires. With Germany paying the debt it owed in the Treaty of Paris. The roaring twenties was roaring until the depression came upon us all. This greatest depression lasted until the Nazi party rose and engulfed us all into another world war. At the end of this war the unification of Canada and the C.S.A. was done. Even though the confederacy was allowed to maintain its Capitol at Richmond Virginia, the national capitol in Ottawa is still known as the nation's capital. The cold war did affect us all. The Berlin wall fell 1983. Thus, the state of the world is in rather sad state of affairs. With the desert wars, raging with ideologies running rampant through the world. We are in a state of constant watch. Ever imposing our eyes on things that shouldn't be, alas all is quiet in a nice southern Georgian coast in a nice small little quaint town know as Andersonville.

The nameless back in the corner shifted, revealing a face. Through her peripheral, she knew him to be a young man---slightly older---with deadly eyes behind glasses. A blurry sight did this peripheral hold. A book she carried with her; Keats. With her eyes set to read, she chose to ignore this stranger, but the words didn't make sense to her and she had to reread each page twice. They mixed and mingled with her thoughts and she felt as if she were reading their story instead. She reared back in disgust. His eyes were on her. she turned her mind to the tan walls and the four two-chaired tables. Fluent paintings. A stage.

Poetry is an evolving art. Thirty to forty of the current poems are modifications of poems from his first poetry book: The Blood Of His Love (2003). This current compilation of poems, entitled: An Easter People is a labour of love. Like his hockey career, which he began in the seminary at the age of 21, he only began writing poetry seriously as a priest in his early 40's. This compilation of 185 poems covers a multitude of styles and approaches and is a culmination of nearly 20 years of writing. Currently, his focus is on faith base poetry for personal reflection and prayer. The author has been inspired by his prayer life, spiritual reading and the internet. Many of the ideas of his poems are influenced by the Bible and the writings and spiritual life of others. Over the years, by God's grace, he has come to the realization that poetry is more than rhyming. Poetry is speaking from the heart.
