Twenty-one poems written in a style that harkens Sylvia Plath, without the tragic ending. Confessional poetry at its most epic, the divinely channeled writings of Foster speak to the depths of childhood sexual, verbal, and physical abuse, to the adulthood tribulations of familial issues, saving your inner child, and cutting out everything that does not spark joy.

""An Autumn challenge to write 21 poems in 21 days. That was achievable right?! Well actually it was - just about! I've always liked writing poems but I never quite know what is going to come out onto the paper. Sometimes it seems to be something relatively decent; other times I have no idea where my weird ideas and phrases have come from!""

The world is filled with noise. Whether it's a sold-out concert or nature's simple existence, sound waves are always crashing around us. Sound follows the sun and the moon as it washes over the Earth and floods our ears. To save ourselves from drowning in it, we need to take a breath every once in a while in the void where absolute silence is required.

I am grateful for this life that has given me a varied range of experiences. At times, it has been a very hard journey, so hard that I almost wanted to end it. What got me through were words, some I heard from outside, and some came from within. My diaries were my friends and in them, I expressed my poems as my thoughts took shape and helped me make sense of the challenges I faced. These poems express my hurt, my anger, my hopes and at times my very rare sense of humour.

This book starts with poems that I wrote when I was a teenager. I wrote with a lot of negative emotions (sad, anger, confusion) because of the life I had lived at the time and all I knew how to do was put my pen to the paper. There was a good span of maybe 10 years that I didn't write anything, but I did experience life (adulthood, love, motherhood) in a better light; during those years, it felt great to be in control of my life and the things in my life. When I was reminded how it felt to write, my words too were in a better light, I had so many new and exciting things to write about. By the end of the book, I hope you enjoyed and can appreciate or possibly relate to my journey through my words.

In this short collection of poetry, the author dares ask "What is a poem?" Reading between the rhymed lines of this book, readers will find themes of personal expression, belief, and identity. The poems in this book, while conveying their individual themes, also work to tackle the definition of a poem. Often, the poetry will refer to and criticize itself. In conjunction with that, major themes and characters in the author's mythos are finally discussed and hinted towards. All of these characters transform this book into a good read for fans of the author or poetry itself.

This poetry book is a collection of many of the poems that the author has written over 36 years. It is a celebration of the ramblings of a dypraxic mind who likes to enjoy the shape and sound of words. The later poems show how the author has used poetry to express challenging times and emotions. The author hopes that this use of poetry may inspire others to let out deep emotions through the use of words.
