It was summertime 1955, and the wind was picking up, while the clouds rolled by, foretelling of a storm coming. As a sleepy-headed six year old, the small-framed girl walked across the lawn to where her grandmother was working quickly in the garden. Darlene noticed her five-year-old brother staring upwards. Shortly, he called her name and motioned for her to look up. Jesus hovered amid the clouds and spoke gently but firmly. "Something is going to happen, but I will bring you back. I will always be with you."Separated from two siblings and the only family she knew, Darlene was placed for adoption. Over the next twenty years, she endured physical, sexual, and verbal abuse. Rejection, anger, bitterness, depression, and loneliness became a way of life. But Darlene never gave up hope, remembering God's promise to return her to her biological family. God's plan for her was more than she could ever imagine.

    301

Have you ever felt in your gut that you were mistreated, marginalized, alone, sabotaged? Your feelings may be unveiling adversity. Adversity can be a show stopper that negatively impacts one's outlook on life and self-confidence. It is a given fact that individuals succumb to the pressures of adversity due to lack of guidance on how to positively respond mentally or spiritually. Like Crabs in a Barrel helps to expose some avenues of adversity and provides the guidance on how to handle adversities that you might meet in the workplace, community, or home so that you can overcome.Adversity takes many forms and usually rears its head when you are perceived to be progressing or having the potential to progress. Hence, the cliché that speaks to it being lonely at the top. We often perceive adversity to be bold and loud, but many kinds of adversity are covert. Many times, the ones closest to you are the leaders in this war. Th e ones that have nothing to say are saying a lot. Body language speaks loudly, and you must listen to it. God through His Words helps us to identify and respond to adversity as well as teaches us how to avoid partaking in creating adversity

Regarding faith, a playwright once said, Men still have faith, but today men do not have faith in God. Men have faith in the doctor. That playwright lived to be ninety-five years old. We need to learn from Gods people who lived long. Ask yourself this question: what did Noah or Abraham or Moses or Joshua do to achieve health and longevity? Im sure they did nothing halfway or their way, but they did things God's way.

Blake's grandfather suspected the children were taken to a deserted island in the Bahamas, and he was determined to find those children who had been kidnapped. Blake James went with his grandfather to get the chopper at the airport. Flying over many deserted islands, Grandfather said, "Maybe we will see something from up here." Then there it was, Blake spotted something shiny…something sparkling…as they flew over one of the uninhabited islands. Grandfather swirled the chopper around to take a closer look. Then he saw it too. He was surprised at what caught Blake's eye.

  • - How God strengthened me through my struggles and turned my tears
    av Dr Barbara Searcy Cothran
    181

From the peach fields will allow you to confront the adversities in your life. You too, have had harsh words spoken to you and about you. This book will help you face those giants. Many Psychologists say that 'hurting people hurt other people.' Reading this book allows one to realize that if you were victimized by someone who had not successfully dealt with their own demons, they were projecting their hurt on to you. You were being made to feel inferior by someone who has now become the bully. I discuss the adversities that I encountered in my past and the most recent adversity that had me questioning if God was hearing my prayers and seeing my tears. I was told that I was weak, that I had no faith, that I was clingy, that I was fake, that I had been in church all of my life and I still had not grown, that it was all about me, that I was no longer wanted, that I was nobody, and so many other hurtful things that are too painful to write. I never received an apology and when I asked for prayer, the answer was no. This left me in a state of depression, brokenness and a sense of worthlessness. Hurtful words are the most devastating when they come from someone that you love and look up to.You too, may have had hurting words said to you that left you broken. Know that God can restore you and make you whole. God does not condemn but he wants to restore because he still has a plan for your life.

This book, set in the '50s through the '70s in rural South Carolina is a collection of true stories that depict what it was like to grow up during the greatest era of the United States of America. An era when love, church, family, and patriotism were the cornerstones of our society, and common sense parenting was used to raise children. I am a product of this era, and it is an honor for me to share my collection of stories with you. These stories are about interactions and events that happened in my life and how my dad's reactions, responses, and behaviors not only taught me valuable lessons but helped to shape my life forever. Each of my dad's lessons about life correspond directly with lessons taught by my Father's Word. This book has something for people at every age and every stage of life. Everyone can learn something about themselves and about life by reading these stories. As you read My Dad, My Father, I hope you find these stories to be entertaining and enjoyable.

I have written this book because of the sorrows that addiction has brought upon every community in the United States of America. At the church that I attend, the pastor once asked the congregation how many people had been affected by addiction. Everyone there raised their hands. Behind every addict are loved ones: mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, husbands, and wives. They all have families. Addiction doesn't happen in a bubble. The lives of many others are also touched by the addict. The passing of the addict also brings great sorrow to many. Not just because of the death of a loved one, but also because of the potential of that person having been lost because of addiction. My hope with the writing of this book is that the addicts would "wake up." In some way, they would be shaken out of this stupor and realize their purpose and plan God has called them to in this life. And by living their life to the glory of God, they might bring others with them along the way through the principles laid down in this book. I have also felt the need to bring the message of redemption and recovery found in our Lord Jesus Christ to those who are in desperate need of hearing it the most. The Lord Jesus Christ can change and transform lives, even yours. If America is ever going to be delivered from the plague of Addiction, then America is going to have to return to the God and Savior that made America a great and prosperous nation to begin with.May God bless you and the reading of this book.

This Same Jesus! Proved by science! Prophesied the exact day and time of his crucifixion! Prophesied the exact day and time of his resurrection! Prophesied the exact year of his return! Acts 1:11 (emphasis added) says, "This same Jesus shall so come as you have seen him go into heaven." Colossians 1:17 states, "He is before all things and by him all things consist."

There is an alarming amount of misinformation concerning the most climactic event in all of human history-the imminent return of Jesus Christ to the earth. As Christians become more and more biblically illiterate with each passing generation, they are particularly susceptible to false teaching concerning the second coming of Christ, and yes, it does matter what you believe!Speaking of false teachers, the apostle Peter wrote, "They will secretly introduce destructive heresies...Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up" (2 Peter 2:1b-3a).In just the past one hundred years, many American Christians have been falsely led to believe they will be "raptured out," removed by Jesus Christ from this world before his Second Coming or serious tribulation occurs. This flies in the face of the fact that Christians are already enduring torture and are being martyred on a grand scale in many other countries, particularly by radical Muslims. This book, The End of Time, takes an in-depth look into the truths found within the Bible concerning the End Times-truths that have been obviously distorted. Lucifer began distorting the words of God in the Garden of Eden. An unprepared mankind was deceived, and Paradise was lost. The very same Tempter continues to distort the truth concerning the return of Jesus Christ within the walls of the church to this day! Once again, millions of unprepared Christians will be caught off-guard by the manner of the Lord's return in the same way the nation of Israel was taken by surprise at his first arrival in Bethlehem.A rapture and vindication of faithful believers will indeed occur, but will coincide with Christ's return to earth, as the Scriptures clearly indicate. The Lord will then judge this fallen world, reward the faithful, and paradise will be restored. Comparing Scripture with Scripture, the Old Testament with the New Testament, the truths we need to understand concerning the approaching end of time as we know it can be grasped.

People are given a choice whether to follow Satan and his evil rules or turn the world around into the world which God intended us to live in. It is good which people choose to defeat evil in the end. Then peace finally comes to Earth.

There is no doubt in my mind that even as we meet, you are going through some type of trial, disappointment, frustration, and you are feeling like you are all alone. You feel as if there is no hope. There are a lot of emotions going on right now, and there are all kinds of voices running through your head, telling you that you don't belong and that you are not wanted and you are not loved. There are thoughts of suicide and there are thoughts of wanting to get back at the ones that have hurt you and caused you pain.Stop listening to those voices and focus your full undivided attention on this book that I have dedicated to you. I can feel what you are going through and what you are thinking at this very moment. I have been where you are today. There is hope if you don't give up.You want to give up on life. You don't feel worthy of anything. You blame others for your problems. Others blame you for their problems. People don't seem to understand you especially your family, friends, and significant others. You feel that no one loves you and no one really cares. You feel that you do not deserve to be loved. Others have made you feel like less than. You feel ugly, fat, and unattractive. You feel too skinny and unattractive. Others call you names. People are laughing at you and teasing you. People have said that you are a misfit, and you are starting to believe all those negative things that others have said about you. When I wrote this book, I really did have you in mind. I have been where you are and I know that there is hope for you as there was hope for me. I encourage you to hold on because things will get better and the simple fact that you have decided to read this book that I wrote it is an indication that you want help.I pray that my book will encourage you and turn you in another direction of hope and knowing that you have everything to live for and know that no matter how tough the storms get and how bad the problem may seem, there is hope and there are brighter days ahead for you if you don't give up.Read and enjoy.

Jimmy Reed was raised on a cotton farm in a region that is often referred to as the most Southern place on earth: the Mississippi Delta. During his boyhood years, he was mentored by an African American man known affectionately as Jaybird. Man and boy were inseparable, and during their many years together, Jaybird not only imbued in his young charge many of the Christian values that still guide his life, but also passed on to him his inimitable storytelling ability. Many of the stories in this book illustrate the loving bond between a wise old black man and a young white boy whom he loved like his own son. Reed retired from a two-decade farming career and completed a second career as a college teacher in Oxford, Mississippi.

One of the most complex problems in the church today is interpersonal relationships. Ministries are brought low because of a lack of understanding of how these things work. The bible is not silent concerning these issues, but there seems to be a great confusion in how they are applied. This study is focused on that issue. Let's explore the vast world of relationships the way God designed them and learn to walk in the power and peace the way He intended.

Letters of Encouragement from a Mother to Her Son is pretty much made up of nine letters that were written by a mother to her only child, her son who has to spend time locked away from family.Out of the nine letters, the last one has not yet been read by my son. By this time, if you are reading this, my son has also. After each letter, there are scriptures and teaching that one could ponder on and apply to their life so that they may be encouraged and lifted up and know that they are not alone. Most of us young and old never pick up a Bible, so God has appointed those that are led by the Holy Spirit to be a light to the world.I pray that this book will reach and bless many who read it, and I pray that those who apply the Word of Jesus to their life will be encouraged and changed in a way that draws them closer to Jesus Christ. Maybe they would even give their life to Jesus, if they haven't already, then assemble themselves around those who love the Lord so that they may continue to grow in the Lord our God and pass it on to the next, spreading the love of God.Amen!Be encouraged.

We are closer now to Christ's return. God wants to reach out to a generation of lost souls. The Forgettable: Through Jeremiah is a reminder of how closely today's world is related to the Israelites in the book of Jeremiah-from the 2016 presidential election to wars to the damages caused by sin in the way society lives. God's love for us is more than enough to lead us to righteousness. This book is an end-time tool to get believers ready and nonbelievers converted for the triumphant return of our Lord.
