The mystery of life coming out of death is everywhere present in the created world: morning comes out of night, spring breaks out of winter, and flowers bud after being planted. Jesus spoke of this mystery of life when he said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, 'Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.'"The early followers of Jesus recognized that the death and resurrection of Jesus was crucial to their belief and to their experiences in the kingdom of God. They also soon began to realize that their life experiences were mirroring the death and resurrection of Jesus. In fact, the early disciples of Jesus did not identify themselves as Christians. Accordingly, to the Acts of the apostles, the early followers of Jesus seem to be known as the people of the way. He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means "Be opened!"). At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly. Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said. The name of my book, The Aroma After the Rain, came to be because when I sit and spend time with the Lord, I can always smell the beautiful aroma of flowers around me--particularly, in the rain when the aroma is even stronger.I was inspired to write this book by a very close friend that I had the privilege of knowing for many years. Through those years, she would always say that she would love to write a book one day to encourage women of all ages and help them along their path of life with God. My beloved friend passed away a few years ago from cancer at the age of seventy-seven years young, and I was able to help her during those difficult times until she went home to be with our precious Lord and savior.Then God began impressing upon me to write a book for women of all ages to help them as I have been helped along my walk with the Lord. So now I have written this book, praying that it will help women in every area of their lives because as we all know, life gets hard at times. We can overcome troubles or insecurities before us because of God--with Him and through Him alone. My prayer is for every woman reading these messages that you will become more aware of how valuable and precious you are to God. You are his daughter, and he is always waiting for you to come to him and share what is on your mind. And so, take a few minutes out of the day to sit with him and refresh yourself in his presence.

If we are to be part of a democracy, then let us be united. And if we are to be a member of the United States democracy, let us be united and unite others. God will guide. We are a World People, seeking to know ourselves, together. All religions, with others, not of religion--united: do it and be it. It will take work and effort in social economic and political adjustment, for God's paradigm. God's Spirit at work.

This book is a historical fiction that I have written about the 1960 baseball World Series, specifically about game 7 of that series, that many baseball experts feel was the greatest game ever played in the history of Major League Baseball. The seventh game of that World Series was played on a sunny fall day on October 13, 1960, at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On that date, around 3:00 p.m., Bill Mazeroski, the second baseman for the Pirates, hit a walk-off home run in the top of the ninth inning to win the game.On the second pitch thrown by Yankee pitcher Ralph Terry, Mazeroski hit a ball over the 402 sign in left field, which gave the Pirates an improbable and almost miraculous win over the heavily favored New York Yankees. This home run was the highlight of the many strange and dramatic plays that took place during game 7, which makes that game one for all ages and one that would make for an excellent script for any Hollywood movie.This book, however, is about more than the 1960 World Series. It is also about two nine-year-old boys who meet each other in the summer of 1960 and who become close friends, united by not only baseball but also by a crisis that plagues one of the main character's family. Daniel Pryzinski and Adam Brodziak are the two fictional characters in this book who meet each other by chance during the summer of 1960. Daniel lives in the Polish Hill section of Pittsburgh, while Adam lives in a small rural coal-mining town in western Pennsylvania, sixty miles from Pittsburgh. The two meet each other by chance when Adam's family is invited to stay with Daniel's family while they are attending a Polish Festival in Pittsburgh.While staying with the Pryzinski family, the Brodziaks discover a dark secret. Through the intervention of the Brodziaks and their family doctor, Tom Slevic, they are able to convince Peter to admit himself to an Alcohol Rehab Center in Somerset, Pennsylvania.Although the focus of this book is the seventh game of the 1960 World Series, it is the relationship of the fictional characters that will show the reader how reliance upon family and friends and hope in God and faith can serve to change the lives of so many whose loved ones are affected by alcohol or other types of addiction or substance abuse.

Included in the book are statistics and interviews from young people and pastors and possible interventions that could work for churches with declining attendance of young people. Without young people in the church, it will die.

Lewis, Billy Graham, Corrie Ten Boom, Max Lucado, Denzel Washington, Charles Swindoll, and John Maxwell. I have been inspired by some well-renowned authors/writers, and it's my hope that you will be inspired by this book.
