Salt and Light: America's Greatest Need is written to share with God's children the urgency of being all that He needs us to be in the day in which we live. Our nation is divided and awash in sin and immorality. It would be easy to blame the politicians and the evildoers for the state of our world today. However, God's Word makes it clear that it is His children who are responsible for the chaos holding us in its grip. Our lives can and should make a difference. God has promised to hear our prayers and heal our land if we humble ourselves before Him, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways. We have the power to make a difference and bring healing to our sin-sick world. I pray that this book will encourage you to do just that.

I'm sure you may be familiar with the saying "WWJD"--"What would Jesus do?" Well, here is a new one for you: "WWJS"--"What would Jesus say?" That's right, "What would Jesus say?" WWJS. I'm sure if you are anything like me, you would like to quote Jesus. Now you may be able to quote a line or two, but wouldn't it be nice to have more quotes at the ready? Well, now you can. Jesus Said will help prepare you to quote our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And in our current world environment, all Christians should be sharing the words and wisdom of Jesus. I truly believe Jesus Said will coach you in your discussions with, say, your Bible study class or spread the words of Jesus to nonbelievers. So let's spread the word "WWJS."

Follow the raw and real journey of a young girl as she grows into a woman with unshakable faith while her mom was in the grip of alcoholism. From beloved daughter to scapegoat and verbally abused to separation to caretaker to beloved daughter again. Without Jesus, she would not have lived to share her story. It's not the worst story; unfortunately, many have it far worse, but it's her story. A story about how Jesus was there for her and how he's there for you, too, whether you acknowledge him or not. May it help you find the love, peace, strength, and hope that can only be found in him.The grip of alcoholism is very powerful, but the love of Jesus Christ is so much more powerful. His love never fails. We are imperfect but perfectly loved, unconditionally, no matter what happens in our lives or how much we sin. It's also a story about the power of love between a parent and a child and how it can endure even the most difficult relationship. The story was written and posted one way at a time, 121 ways Jesus was there for the author, along with personally selected supporting Bible verses. It can be read one way a day, all 121 ways in one day, or any way in between. Those who read along as it was written said it helped them grow their faith even if there were no struggles with alcohol. For those who are an alcoholic or at risk of becoming one and for those who love an alcoholic, it may be similar to your own story but you can't find the words to write. And if you don't yet know that Jesus is there for you, may it help you find him.

In summary, I would like to bring to mind Jesus's words in Luke 24:44-45:That all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms concerning me. Then opened. He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures.Jesus opened the disciples' understanding that they would see fulfilled prophecy. Our understanding can likewise be opened up when we allow the Bible to speak. The Bible is its own best commentary. In this book, you will be able to see how Jesus fulfilled prophecy concerning himself and his kingdom/church. Many of the radio and television preachers are mistaken when they preach on the Second Coming of Christ. They misunderstand how the many prophecies they use have already been fulfilled in Christ's first coming and in the establishment of the church/kingdom. They misunderstand the many figurative and symbolic statements used by the prophets in the Old Testament. The New Testament writers were revealed the fulfilment of these prophecies. It is important to remember that figurative passages must always be understood in light of easy-to-understand passages and any interpretation of a difficult passage that contradicts a plain passage cannot be correct.God bless those of you who read this book--that you will be like the early Bereans in that they received the Word of God with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things are so or not (Acts 17:10-11).

Throughout the Bible, Yahweh calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Mary is no exception. In the Nativity story, a humble, young Jewish girl is called to do that which socially could get her shunned or stoned to death. The real miracle is not a virgin birth but that Mary said "yes." This was truly an "ohhh" moment. Even when she questions or doubts, she boldly demonstrates her trust in God. As we follow Mary on this journey to Epiphany, may we be inspired to say "yes" to our calling.Originally written as an Advent to Epiphany devotional, Mary's ponderings are applicable to our daily journey. Each day begins with an interpretation of Mary's thoughts and emotions, followed by modern application and concluding with a prayer. Discover your "ohhh" moments as you walk with Mary.

Maybe some people study prophecy for the thrill of the sensational, like adrenaline addicts chasing the next sky-dive rush. Certainly, promises given hundreds or thousands of years before their fulfillments are remarkable. However, sensationalism is not the intended purpose. And some people may think that prophecy is an ancillary, nonessential part of theology. But the premise of this book is that God-given prophecy has a far more profound purpose than sensationalism and plays an essential, inseparable part in the gospel message. Now if faith in Christ is all that is necessary for salvation, why is prophecy essential? The angel messenger who gave the Revelation to John answered that question. The angel told John, "These are the true sayings of God." Then John fell at the feet of the angel to worship him. The angel responded, "See you do it not, for I am your fellow servant and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Rev. 19:10). The angel explained that all prophecy connects to Jesus. Intrinsic to Jesus is prophecy, as is all scripture. That which predicts or speaks of His divine and human nature, His life and miracles, His death and resurrection, and His earthly and heavenly kingdom are all interconnected--they are all a part of His story, His testimony, His person. Therefore, Christ is the unspoken basis for this specific blessing given to readers of the Revelation: "Blessed are they that read and hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written in it, for the time is at hand" (Rev. 1:3). Though there is rich reward in every book of the Bible, no other gives the aforementioned promise of blessing.

The Bible is a simple story told in a complex way. For anyone who has been intimidated at the thought of reading the entire Bible from beginning to end, this book should make that story easier to understand. Ancient biblical storytelling and symbolism are explained in clear, simple, everyday language to make the meaning easier for anyone to comprehend. The entire Bible was written so that everyone can know God's plan and how it has changed through the ages in response to the actions of mankind. Every book in the Bible is written for everyone to increase their learning and understanding, but not every book is written to everyone, and we must learn how to divide God's Word to understand what is relevant for today. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:15, emphasis added). This book will give you a basic understanding of the Bible and will teach you how to divide God's Word to make studying easier and less confusing. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. (1 Cor. 15:1-4)

While eclipses are not that uncommon, total solar eclipses often occur over the ocean rather than on land. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking the 2017 eclipse was nothing out of the ordinary. While people were watching, day was turned to night all across the United States. It had been ninety-nine years since a total solar eclipse crossed the entire United States, and having another total solar eclipse cross the entire United States again in 2024, just seven years later, is unprecedented.Lunar eclipses (blood moons) are of prophetic significance for Israel, whereas solar eclipses are prophetic significance for Gentiles. It's well known that the United States has been the wealthiest, most powerful, and most influential Gentile nation. It is also a giant ethnic melting pot and hosts a proto-world government in the form of the United Nations. Two total solar eclipses spaced seven years apart, crossing the entirety of the United States that form an X over the largest and main Gentile nation on earth should not be ignored--it should at least be thought-provoking.No one can manipulate an eclipse or its narrow path of totality. Nobody can change the orbital mechanics of the planets, only God.The writing is on the wall with a timeline of events, see for yourself. You will find yourself asking, "What are the odds?"

We all know that God loves us, but with the everyday grind of life, sometimes we all need a reminder of what God's love is. This book was written in the basic sense and expression of God's love found in his Word. It was meant for us to stop and relish in it. This book was written for every person going through something in life who needs to be reminded of God's love. Regardless of your knowledge, your relationship with him, or the lack thereof, we all need a gentle reminder from time to time of God's agape love. I am encouraging you to read this book and allow God's Word to rejuvenate, draw you close, and allow you to just rest in him and his Word as he fills you with his unconditional and perfect love.

Did you know that 50 percent of American high school students think Sodom and Gomorrah were married? How about that in London, England, it is illegal to drive a car without sitting in the front seat? And then there is Howdy Doody's resident Native American, Chief Thunderthud, who belonged to the Ooragnak tribe. (Ooragnak is kangaroo spelled backward.)These and thousands of other gems are included in this book. It's a book to strictly have fun with and cram your brain with pointless knowledge. You'll be surprised how often you'll quote it.

U-Turn to Paradise provides the reader with a figurative treasure map that is oftentimes described in literal terms. Revealed in the stories that are retold is a how-to-get-to-heaven-from-here-to-there book. Testimonials from believers provide statements of miraculous deliveries, which also define their level of Christian faith and express how ordinary people overcome day-to-day struggles and relationship dramas through the power of prayer, praise, and living holy to the glory of God. Through the reading of their testimonies, one may find out how to do the same in one's life--that is, make a "U-turn to paradise." We see how they, through the power of the Holy Spirit, established true Christian boundaries and practical worship in the name of Jesus Christ in a world that has become more and more accepting of evil with each passing day!Other testimonials are gleaned from the lives of biblical figures. In these stories, Marilyn reveals how these inspired men of God struggled to either regain their spiritual compass or were determined to help others to discover the blessings and the practical benefits of making their "U-turn to paradise." She uses the retelling of these testimonials to showcase how-to examples, even algorithms, of how one who is living in today's 2012, 2013, and 2014 generation and beyond can follow the narrow path in the way that Jesus of Nazareth went to return to the great God in heaven! You will also learn that you must be spiritually fit--that is, "U" must repent of your sins and ask God for His unfailing mercy to be cleansed of all unrighteousness! At the writing of the second edition, God has blessed her to reside in Rancho Cordova, California, a city located just east of Sacramento, the state capital! In closing, she prays in the holy name of Jesus is that may it grow fervently, your desire to serve Him, He who can hold you blameless before God (2 Peter 3.14), "in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24) day by day by all day; may you purpose in your heart in these evil-filled days to be with the Lord Jesus Christ; and may you answer the divine call of your shepherd and your King to be a member of His remnant church and thus return unto Him to live in paradise (Psalm 23:1; Revelation 2:7)!A-m-e-n! Have you ever considered how God works in your life? Have you ever wondered why things have gone the way they have for you?In my life, I have experienced good times and tough times. I have lived in extreme poverty and with extraordinary wealth. I have seen some ugly parts of life and some beautiful parts too. I have lived through the horrors of war and the tragedies of death. I have suffered pain and loss, as well as healing and gain. I have experienced heartache and heartbreak, as well as joy and rejoicing that are beyond words. Some wonderful people have influenced me, and I have been able to influence others as well. I have started businesses and closed businesses. And the list could go on and on. The point is this: in spite of the difficulties, I consider myself to have lived a rich and full life!My desire in authoring this story is to share with my family--kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids--some of the events of my life that I believe have some relevance for them, particularly events about God's work in my life. Some of what I have to tell them now will be comforting or more precious to them later. The first section, "Grandpa Saw the Light," is about my conversion to Jesus Christ and the circumstances surrounding it. The second section, "Grandpa Shined the Light," is about my personal growth as a believer. And the third section, "Grandpa Shared the Light," is about my ministry and service for God.I also hope this book will be a source of encouragement to many, so they share their own story with others, particularly their loved ones. Everyone's life is a unique story, and it is meant to be shared with others. Some stories are more dramatic or sensational than others, but all are important.Your story is about God's work in your life and your response to Him. I hope this book is a source of blessing for you.

"Eastern Orthodoxy illuminated by the Gospel is one of the greatest books ever written about the Orthodoxy. Reading the book Eastern Orthodoxy illuminated by the Gospel is like climbing a high mountain, where your visual field gets expanded with each step, discovering new and exciting details, and finally gives an exceptional panoramic view that evokes the strongest feelings! Each new line is like a new stair leading to a highest top, from where you can observe the whole Orthodoxy. Orthodoxy from God's perspective. Light of the glorious Gospel and Christ's teachings shines like the sun throughout this book, illuminating a complete profession of faith of the Eastern Orthodox Church."Sladjan Djuric Author of the book Only Scripture, Serbia"I have never understood why Eastern Orthodox people practice or believe certain things. When I would ask, I would either get silence or a very confusing and superficial answer. Ivica's book made those mysterious things clear for the first time and helped me understand the essence and the roots of the Orthodox religion. Without exaggeration I think this is a first-class apologetic manual ever written. Everyone who is called to work with Orthodox believers should have this book because it can help them understand the people who practice Eastern Orthodoxy, and give them directions how to pray and preach the Gospel more efficiently (2. Corinthians 4:3-4, Ephesians 6:12).'' Jan Vareca Editor of a Christian e-magazine 'The trumpet of Zion', Serbia"Eastern Orthodoxy has been largely unknown in the West, but in the recent years there has been a surge of interest, particularly among Christians of Protestant/Evangelical orientation, many of whom wish to find out more about this mystical expression of faith that captivates by its ancient charm and connection to the early church fathers. The book Eastern Orthodoxy Illuminated by the Gospel by Ivica Stamenkovic will unlock the mysteries of Eastern Orthodoxy for the Western readers. A native of Serbia, a country with a strong Eastern Orthodox majority, Ivica had the advantage of studying Eastern Orthodoxy at its source. The product of his studies is a volume that deserves to be called nothing less than a textbook on Eastern Orthodoxy and probably the first of its kind available in the English language. His clear, scholarly approach leaves no stones unturned. Needless to say, a study such as this one has been long overdue in the West. Even though scholarly, the book is by no means "dry" and is an enjoyable read, cover to cover."Alex Jovanovic Pastor of Mooretown Brethren in Christ Church Sandusky, Michigan, USA
