  • - Who Should Decide?
    av Mark R Foster
    316,-

This is a thoughtful treatment from a Christian doctor¿s point of view of the intersection between theology and medicine and how the Bible should inform modern medical decisions and legislation about medical topics. Attorney David Gibbs III, General Counsel Christian Law Association In the current debate over stem cell research and utilization, Americans are increasingly facing perhaps the greatest ethical question in the history of biomedicine: At what point does a commitment to enhancing, saving or even creating one person's life interfere with another's right to that same life. Regrettably, with embryonic cell utilization, the answer is that the conflict is quickly and abundantly apparent, despite what its proponents are telling us. In Stem Cell and Cloning: Who Should Decide?, Dr. Mark Foster carefully dissects these issues and provides still further support for the fact that we can do much to enhance the quality of American health care and human longevity--including with the possible utilization of adult stem cells--without forgetting our role as mortal servants of God. Today’s Bible believing Christians, young,  old,  or new, want answers to their questions: Does science really disprove the Bible? Which is true, evolution or that God supernaturally created the universe as He said? Was there a Flood and was it global? How big was Noah’s Ark and could all the animals really fit?  Can man create life in the laboratory?  Are there consequences in believing evolution to be true? For those individuals seeking answers to these questions and more, the book, Scripture & Science: Conflict or Conformation, clearly explains in understandable language how the scientific evidence fits into the Biblical narrative.  It presents a compelling Biblically based alternative to the dominant, “naturalistic” worldview and its bed-children: Theistic Evolutionism, Gap/Ruination Theory, and Progressive Creationism and others.

It has occurred to the writer that throughout the Bible, but especially in the Old Testament, there were many references to the word "Covenant." The urge to write a book which would thoroughly investigate every occurrence of that word (in the King James Version) just would not be dismissed from my mind. And so it lingered there until I finally decided that I would tackle the job. If I am not mistaken, the word "Covenant" appears 292 times in the Bible and only ten of them are in the New Testament. There are other forms of the word which also appear in the holy writ, six of them being in the New Testament and only two of them in the Old Testament. The word "Covenant," for the most part, almost exclusively has to do with the Israelites or with a person who was an Israelite. Even its use in the New Testament this rule is not broken. So we might say that the word "Covenant" is, in its use in the Bible, very Jewish. Even for us Christians, we are spiritual descendants of Israel through Jesus Christ. We anticipate that this book may be very enlightening to all who read it.

I find it a special privilege to share what Gods Word tells us about the pre-Adamite world, science and evolution. I believe God wants us filled with the knowledge of His Word and set free from man made doctrines and theories that rob us from our faith and belief in Him and the creation, as it did myself for many years. You will also find astounding Biblical truths to some of the most controversial subjects known to man, such as; The creation of planet earth. The Zodiac. Why did God create sin...or did He? Who is Satan? Did God create the devil? Why pure virgin blood was necessary for our redemption Who were the giants in the land...where did they come from? Where did Cain get his wife? Astounding proof of the authenticity of Gods Word. The Bible answers these questions fully. There is a great hunger for truth to know more about these mysteries of the pre-adamic world, to bring satisfaction to our minds of the authenticity of every jot and tiddle of the Bible to be true. If you are searching for Biblical truth, as I was, I invite you to come with me on this Scriptural journey that I have been on for over 30 years finding the Way, the Truth and discovering the purpose of real life and real happiness.

Addiction . . .Another word for heartache and despairWho could ever understand No one, unless it happened to you.Do you ever wonder, ';What's wrong with me? Why am I different? Why do I do what I really, at times, do not want to do? Something inside (deep inside of me) seems to rise up and I lose control again.'Are you being played? Is there some force that is stronger than you that has control? You are not alone. There is an enemy (a whole army of demons) that works to destroy you. It is an enemy that knows your weakness. You, at times, are helpless in this thing. You are being played. We dance to a certain music played just for usplayed using our weaknesses, by the enemy of our soul. Yes, the devil (or Satan) is his name. You can run away and refuse to believe, but it is true. You will be played, until you face the possibility that it is an evil spirit who works on you! I thought that I was bad and did bad things, when I only wanted to please myself and have a little fun; but then the fun turned into shame. You must face the consequences of the addiction and helplessness.

  • - Reaffirming Baptist Principles in Today's Changing Church Scene
    av Dan Nelson
    246,-

We need to know how we have gotten to this place in the history of Christianity, as Baptists. What sacrifices have been made by Baptists that have shaped our distinct identity today. It is my concern that many of these cherished teachings may be forgotten, in a rush to not turn off people by teaching doctrines for whom many have fought and even died. I believe it will cost us bigtime, if we lose our identity and forget from where we have come. I am not for preservation, however; as much as I am for fresh truth that will invigorate and give new life to churches, where there is staleness and where churches have plateaued or are dying. When we know our beliefs and proclaim them boldly, God can use these truths to bring revival to churches in a way we have not seen possible before. We will see revival become reality, if we will study and proclaim the truths that have made us great. The real objective of this work is to help those who have taken Baptist beliefs so lightly and loosely. In doing so, I want them to know we not only have a biblical faith, but that we are very clear on why that faith is biblical. The next generation of pastors, church leaders, and churches will be faced with serious doctrinal questions and challenges. Since we live in a pragmatic culture, the pressure is on us to use whatever works in church. We need to be all things to all people that we might save some (I Corinthians 9:22); but also we need to stand for something, so we affirm not only do we believe truth, but are transformed by it. We should be moved by our convictions and want future generations to see these truths have made us what we are.
