Suzie's Seagrass is the story of a manatee who goes on an adventure with her mom and brother to find their favorite food, seagrass! Suzie's Seagrass is written and illustrated by Kelsey Sweetland, a 16 year old environmental activist whose mission is to bring awareness about environmental issues to kids and families. In the front part of the book, Kelsey explains how manatees and their primary food source, seagrass, are in danger and she gives solutions that could hopefully recover them both. A portion of the proceeds go to nonprofit organizations that protect the threatened manatees and seagrass.
