PHYSICS IS BEAUTIFUL;Physicists love simplicity. They are constantly striving to find the most fundamental ideas that can be used to describe even the most complex of phenomena. For example Newton found that only a very small number of concepts could be used to describe just about all of the mechanical world - from steam engines to the motion of the planets. Not only is this beautiful, it downright amazing!

Gastro-retentive drug delivery system can retain the drug in the gastric region for several hours which enhances drug release and improves bioavailability. Atenolol, an antihypertensive drug has short half-life, limited bioavailability, highly unstable at basic pH and is extensively absorbed from the stomach. These features triggered the need of developing gastroretentive system. In the present study a superporous hydrogel was developed as a gastroretentive drug delivery system. Chitosan / poly (vinyl alcohol) interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) type superporous hydrogels were prepared using a gas foaming method employing glyoxal as the cross-linking agent. SPH tablets of atenolol were prepared by direct compression incorporating microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, talc and sodium bicarbonate, etc. and evaluated. The superporous hydrogels were highly sensitive to pH of swelling media and showed fast swelling and good porosity. SPH tablets of atenolol showed good precompressional and post-compressional properties. Formulation IV exhibited good swelling ratio and sustained release of drug over the period of 12 h through gastro-retention.

This study explores the different types of humour identified in the two comedy plays: Al-Zäeem by Farouk Sabry and Al-Wad Sayed Al-Shaghal by Samir Abdulazim. The humour identified in the two plays posed both cultural and linguistic problems in subtitling as an audiovisual translation domain. The study also investigated the translation strategies employed by the subtitler in overcoming the complex issues encountered. This complexity and challenge were magnified by the use of wordplay or monocultural references along with the multisemiotic nature of the audiovisual translation domain. Moreover, linguistic and cultural humour necessitated the implementation and the utilisation of interventional translation strategies on the subtitler¿s part to ensure the preservation of the SL humorous force to the same or a similar humorous effect in the TL. The subtitler¿s options and choices were also affected by the internal and external factors and parameters surrounding humour. The subtitling process faced technical constraints that limited the space and time given to the process of subtitling, which in turn, resulted in a doubling of the subtitler¿s burden and challenge.

Both forms of interpersonal meanings, the use of appraisal and the use of irony, take part in an inferential model of communication, in which the right inferences or assumptions on the part of the interlocutor are crucial to the success of communication. This research aims to describe various ways of linguistic realization of interpersonal meanings in language use; the purpose of this description is to show that our choice of words may not only transmit ideology but also adhere to hegemonic or dominant discourses. Ideological stance is considered from a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) perspective which delves into the dialectal relationship between discursive and social structures (Fairclough, 1989). The analytical framework is based on Systemic Functional Linguistics (Halliday, 1994; Halliday & Matthiessen, 2014), mostly on Appraisal Theory (Martin & Rose, 2003; Martin & White, 2005). In order to show some different strategies to convey ideology, the use of appraisal and irony in Moore¿s film Capitalism: A love story (2009) is analysed. Qualitative methods are adopted to analyse the data. Findings show that our lexical choices may disclose an adherence to dominant ideologies.

The principle objective of this book was to assess changes during frozen storage the moisture, ash and protein contents of tilapia steaks were found to decrease gradually except lipid content. All the quality indices increased gradually due to protein degradation and lipid oxidation. The electrophoretic pattern of SSP degradation showed that the myofibrillar protein was degrading slowly at initial level but it was prominent after 90th day onwards. From the histochemical studies it was found that muscle fiber bundles broken into smaller pieces and the muscle tissues lost their integration. The sensory data showed that the tilapia steaks were still in acceptable condition at the end of 150 days of frozen storage period. Texture analysis of muscles indicated that the muscle tissues lost their original textural characteristics due to breakdown of myofibrillar protein during frozen storage period. The bacterial count increased slowly during the frozen storage period, but no significant difference was found. However, further research is needed to minimize the loss of muscle and textural quality during frozen storage of tilapia fish.

The restorative needs for the prosthodontic patient frequently require an increase in occlusal vertical dimension (OVD). This may be due to loss of tooth structure and concomitant loss of OVD, supereruption of opposing teeth into edentulous spaces, or for esthetic reasons. It is often difficult to assess whether OVD has truly been lost. Therefore, it may be prudent to focus on whether alteration in OVD is restoratively acceptable. Another consideration for the alteration in OVD is changes in soft tissue profile. In addition to the correct proportions of the teeth, the relationship of the teeth to the lips and gingiva is also an important factor for an esthetic smile. During a normal smile, the upper lip should rest at the level of the mid-facial gingival margins of the maxillary anterior teeth.4 Furthermore, the gingival outline of the maxillary anterior teeth should follow the upper lip line. The incisal edges of the maxillary anterior teeth should follow the curvature of the lower lip. As the vertical dimension of occlusion increases, the distance between the maxilla and the mandible is increased.
