Life is most definitely not fair. Sometimes, we are dished more than we feel we deserve. This book is about how it took a toll on me and what I learned from it. My hurts, pains, joys, and accomplishments are the beginning and end of me. If I can survive them, so can you.

  • - Military Contributions of African Americans
    av Robert Harris
    191

I have always been a fan of history, especially military history. However, I have found that the military history of African Americans in the defense of America has had very little written about it, and in some cases, their deeds and accomplishment were completely omitted. This book is a brief look at some of their accomplishments. Americans of every race should remember and take pride in the courage of Crispus Attucks at the Boston Massacre, the bravery of Peter Salem at the Battle of Bunker Hill, the unselfish sacrifices of John R. Fox on December 26, 1944, at the Italian village of Sommocolonia, and the heroic deed of Dorie Miller aboard the USS West Virginia on December 7, 1941, during the attack on Pearl Harbor. When we remember these acts of courage, devotion to duty, and paying the ultimate sacrifice, we realize that the African American's military contributions goes far beyond digging ditches and serving meals aboard ships. It is my hope that the readers of this book will be encouraged to explore more information on America's history. America's history includes all Americans.

The saga of the DeWitt and Dubois families continues, fighting against all odds with friends and foes alike to fight for the balance of good and evil over all of humanity.  Now, it’s possible that God’s left-hand angel Jonathan DeWitt and Esmeree Dubois are missing and presumed dead.  Generals on both sides are jockeying for a place at the head of the table for power.  Bloody power confrontations are mudding the waters.  What next, who next is the question.  Jessie, Johnny, and Michael have to maintain their strengths together, but Jonathan’s generals and council members want the three of them spread into three groups along with a small handpicked party to finish the mission in order to end this annihilation of all human life as it is on earth. Time is of the essence if the prophecy is to be fulfilled.  Three parts of the prophecy have to be completed and the ceremony of Life and Death has to be consecrated in Mexico in the City of the Dead.  Along the way, new friendships are formed and bonded, but it seems Sirius still has his council members infiltrating, gathering information, and undermining all bonds of trust.  Satan has his foot soldiers striking and leveling all known sanctuaries that the twins, Michael, and their soldiers could go to and regroup together, but each group has to make it to Mexico independently.  Every step of the way is done with a sharp eye and even sharper knives.  Death is stalking their every move, and there is no room for negotiations or parlays.

A man in his early forties is unable to sleep as he contemplates the decision of running for mayor of his small town. While considering his options, his thoughts drift to his wife and their devoted relationship. As he reflects on his good fortune, one fact becomes apparent-his relationship with his wife originated even before it began. In 1992, life is anything but predictable for fifteen-year-old Scott Furman as he comes of age in his Midwestern small lower-class town of South Hillside. An incident that happened when he was born haunts his parents, making his mother's emotional turmoil a mystery. While dealing delicately with his mother, Scott's sensation of being an incomplete person also mystifies him. On the first day of summer vacation, Scott meets a girl named Briana from the adjacent wealthy town of North Hillside. Intelligent hardworking Scott and shy reserved Briana quickly realize their true love is authentic. When they learn of their family and friends' stereotypical feelings of the other one's town, Scott and Briana wisely keep their relationship a secret. However, when Scott's best friend, Derek, learns about Briana, the boys' friendship becomes a battle of wits. Self-centered and competitive, Derek takes pleasure in charming the girls of Scott's interest. One girl unmoved by Derek's charm is Scott's sister-like friend, Felicia. Growing up together, Scott and Felicia have a special bond, but Scott's overprotectiveness of Felicia causes additional complications, especially when Felicia realizes she has always loved Scott. With the love of two girls, Scott's life is full of twists and surprises.
