At the age of twelve, Robin Pascoe lost her mother suddenly to a brain aneurysm. At sixteen, when her father remarried, she saw everything familiar-her home, her school, and friends-vanish overnight. It was a rocky start in life, but luckily, Pascoe was blessed with optimism, an irrepressible spirit, and the driving power of her own resilience. The stories in The Carry-On Imperative recount Pascoe's ambitious beginnings as a journalist and broadcaster through her years as a not-so-diplomatic foreign service spouse. Her trail-blazing books about globally mobile families made her an in-demand speaker worldwide and led to the creation of The Expat Expert, one of the first websites for expats.Fans of The Diplomat will relish this rollicking memoir from "the wife," who trails her husband to far-flung locales but works hard to establish her own identity and career. Wise, touching, and laugh-out-loud funny, The Carry-On Imperative is a delightful, inspirational chronicle of one woman's travels, travails, and lifelong quest to transmute the pain of her early losses into understanding and assistance of others.

Just Like You was written to spread awareness on children with various disabilities in minority communities; this book is about a little girl named Mariah, who is on the Autism Spectrum and is nonverbal. She desires to be included by her peers. Most children with severe special needs in exceptional classes are typically not interactive with other students. Many special-needs children do not have friendships outside of their family and are not invited to many events such as birthday parties by peers. Mariah displays the joy of being included and noticed by her peer in this book. Just Like You was written to inform children that although their peers may be different, inside, they are Just Like You.This book is about a 9-year-old girl with Autism and how she explores the world. It highlights her understanding that many children her age and within her ethnic group are not accepting of her differences. They appear to be unable to understand and cope with her being 'different.' This story sheds light on an inside look at the spectrum and encourages other children to be more accepting and inclusive of children who are different but not less.

This book describes the formalism of the electrostatic field in both vacuum and matter, by constructing step-by-step the complete system of Maxwell's equations, representing the foundation of classical electromagnetism, and is suitable for students taking a general electricity and magnetism (E&M) course or those undertaking a more specialised course in electrostatics.

The Gospel of Unmade Creation, the debut collection by Thabani Tshuma, is about reshaping. It is an examination of the ways we are taken apart and put back together and what exists in that space before 'rebuilding' or 'recovery'. This book is a truth, in the way truth can be both something made and something that already exists. It is an origin story told in non-linear vignettes. Part-testament, part-tome, part exercise in reflection, the poems in the Gospel of Unmade Creation traverse scene, theme, space, and time in search of a sense of 'self'.

"Dust In My Eyes" is a collection of poems written simply as an expression of thoughts or observations, at a particular moment in time. They range in subjects from ranching to the workplace. Some are meant to be humorous, and others lean more toward the inspirational. Illustrations have been added for clarity in some instances and simply to fill spaces in others. The sketches are certainly not polished, or professional in nature, they are merely an extension of creative thought in a different form. The wide range of subject matter should provide something of interest to almost everyone.

An enchanting, standalone, modern rom-com inspired by Jane Austen's EMMA, about a matchmaking young woman whose heart may be in the right place... some of the time.Emmeline - Em to her friends - has very little to vex her, except that she hasn't left her beloved home, Midwynter Hall, in over two years. But her isolation doesn't stop her interfering in the lives of others, particularly when it comes to love. As a romance writer, Emmeline obviously knows what she's doing, increasingly plotting real-life matches rather than fictional ones. When best friend Polly gets mixed up with the wrong sort of man, Emmeline has no choice but to swoop to the rescue. And when old family friend Jordi seeks solace after women and work troubles, Emmeline has the perfect solution. You see, everything she's written lately - pairing up lovelorn locals - has somehow (maybe magically) come true. So, if she pens a tale about Polly and Jordi despite their many protests, they'll thank her eventually, once they're blissfully happy together. But no one is more surprised than Emmeline when she finds she wants to write herself into the story, especially if someone she cares about may get hurt in the process.Because as it turns out, believing you've never been in love, doesn't mean you've never (unknowingly) given your heart away...

"Mysterious, magical, and a little bit deadly... Welcome to Unholy Island. Esme Gray runs the guest house and tends to the ethereal wards that protect the island. She's sheltering from a terrible past and will do anything to stay safely hidden. Luke Taylor has been searching for his missing twin for months, but has begun to believe that his brother might be dead. With his hope in tatters, a tip off leads him to a remote tidal island in the North Sea. It's further out than the famous Holy Island, and far stranger. Visitors shouldn't be able to stay for more than two nights, so when Luke breaks this rule, the close-knit community is sent into turmoil. The residents of Unholy Island have secrets and they intend to keep them. When Luke stumbles across one of the islanders dead on the shore, he finds himself under suspicion, made worse by his own troubles washing up on the tide. Esme is drawn to Luke, but she doesn't trust her own instincts. That's not ideal for a witch - especially when there is a killer on the loose and a storm is rolling in..."--Provided by publisher.

You lead me through strange geographies. You say, up here the tidecannot drown our sandwiches.Es Foong's debut collection explores the strange geographies of belonging: to family, gender, culture and oneself. It ponders boundaries; the predicament of needing to assert them even as they cause pain and separation. It explores influences on identity and the fault-lines of trauma, how these are woven into our bodies. It sees the power and the possibility of the pause - as breath, silence, a poem's whitespace - and as an alternative way of being, survival and love.

Beginning with a childhood in and around depressed Cornish mining, Pancakes for Neptune is a detonation of neoliberal waste. Bullock understands that conservatism - whether in public or private realms - is, by definition, a protection racket. However, this collection is not an angry one. It sparkles with a rich lyrical and imagist vein, stirring us to dwell on this earth in relationship with others, with respect, rapture and exuberant interest. Owen Bullock's latest collection showcases his restless experimentalism as well as his sly, generous and quirky sense of fun.
