"We don't get involved with the prevention of crime. This is not our job. We are here if he kills you or physically harms you; sorry, we cannot help. I know that he called you 260 times last week and has made 254 photographs of your bedroom windows. But, hey, all this is no hurt to yourself."I was standing in a London police station, not believing my ears. He is doing everything to destroy me and my business, but that is not enough terror I need to be stabbed or killed. When I mentioned that he has broken the court order that was issued for my protection, I was told that it is up to me to prove it in order for the police to act. I was on my own and very scared. I tried to not let him change my life, but I lost that battle. All I could do was write, and so I did. This book can be treated as a manual on how to recognize the kind of men to run from--men that are psychopaths and predators, who will leave you having wrecked your self-esteem, stolen your money and peace of mind, and in the end, your health or your very life. They are just not worth it, so beware!

In this intriguing collection of 23 poems, the author takes you on a literary journey through the complex passageways of a uniquely insightful mind. His works embrace a wide variety of subjects, ranging from the historic to the philosophic, from the psychological to the inane. Additionally, there are themes of romance, retribution, and veiled sensuality, as well as imagery-oriented verse. Included here are such gems as:Citadel of Fear - in this Gothic-styled narrative, one man's extreme isolation gives rise to some disturbing paranoid delusions.Dark November - the author's poignant depiction of the J. F. K. assassination and the chain of events that followed. Fishin' for Some Fusion - absurdity abounds in this fictional excursion that takes a lighthearted look at a very dark event: a nuclear power plant disaster. When Leviathan Breaks the Waves - Jonah's nemesis returns...to seek revenge on mankind for its relentless pollution of the seas. The Haunted Lights - a tale of alien abduction based upon a hellish recurring nightmare that the author had experienced. The Caverns Within - imagery takes the reins, in this expedition of escape into the recesses of the mind.Jennifer - a young woman's spirit haunts the ocean waves, near the place of her willful demise.Straight Jacket! - an unsettling look at the scope of mental illness in our society.Saucy Jack - an examination of one of history's most notorious serial killers... Jack the Ripper.Something Old, Something New - romance and reincarnation overlap in this tale of two timeless lovers bridging the gap between their disparities in age.In the Shadow of Falstaff - a farcical social commentary spotlighting the obesity epidemic that our country is facing.Remembering the Immortals - the author lends his touch to an overview of Greek mythology. So sit back, and immerse yourself in the captivating perspectives of Lyrics from the Labyrinth: A Mind Unleashed.WARNING!The following written material contains graphic subject. matter and descriptive passages that some may find disturbing, or offensive. On the edge,Staring down at worn sneakersBarely on the concrete,Fingertips hovering on rusty rails. How many other souls stood here too?Contemplating the plunge of life and death,A simple breeze the wrong direction. Then suddenly, you're hurtling toward the end.Perhaps they never hesitated.Yet somehow, we all know they did. Each one stood and debated the pros and consJustifying their next move toward oblivion.Despite all being tainted with the same darkness,We insist that alone is all we'll ever be.Gulping desperately at fresh air, only to findMildewed hopes and dreams abandonedRevolted with ourselves, We allow that final pushInto Death's warm embrace.

I wrote my story when I was roughly thirty-six years of age. At that time, I went through depression with suicidal thoughts as I was mostly homeless since I was living out of my car, working when I could, and once out the week I stayed at a motel as long as my money lasted. That's where I wrote my story.Written in different time frames and after a month, I pieced through it, putting it in chronological order. Thus the result of The Pain Within. I took great pleasure writing it as I hope you take a greater pleasure reading it.

To dive into a drop of water or drink in a sea of stars, I had a microscope and a telescope. My sister had more changes than a kaleidoscope. We lived in a split-level house with a pool in the back and a TV in almost every room. The only thing missing, according to Mom, was a phone in the bathroom.Love was also missing, but love came and went, a castaway in life's day-to-day. The companionship, the friendship, the partnership were all lost, overboard like flotsam and jetsam from a sinking ship. After fifteen years, my parents were breaking up. Their marriage was on the rocks.

In late 1994 and early 1995 the world as I knew it came crashing down on top of me. I had a negative life threating event rip through my known universe. My reality was no more, my memories were lost and I constantly courted suicide I saw things that I had no understanding of and heard things that I couldn't grasp. My sleep was full of monsters that chased me and my wakening was full of things that threatened me. I couldn't tell the difference between reality and my hallucinations. They counselled me and gave me drugs - so many drugs. I had a constant conversation with seven people screaming at me, telling me to do evil things, in my mind. My own self hid from the hate and evil. My mind was my enemy and all the life lessons that I had and all the beliefs I had vanished under the weight of the screams I heard, in my mind.Eventually the drugs started working and the voices in my mind stopped screaming and no longer told me what to do. But for the next ten years it was like I had PTSD. I couldn't get over the experience. And I had lost the self who hid from the hate and evil.I could find that self nowhere. It no longer existed. Instead, I found an older, wiser, stronger person. One who had gone through hell and had survived. That's me.

Nostalgia is a fascinating phenomenon. Recognizing certain objects, signals, or sounds is just enough to trigger what once was and what was contained within the circle of an old life. Visiting the affluent city of Weston, Florida, triggers my mind into a perpetual marathon of memories. Family, friendships, love, heartbreak, depression, confusion, mistakes, and betrayal were among the many emotions that coated my teenage body. Ever since I chose to write what I felt at sixteen, I needed to recall everything. I needed to understand the what and the why. This is my attempt at figuring it out.

The United States of America: My Country of Destiny is a facts-fit-fiction story of a hardworking, well-educated young Southern Cameroonian during the period of African-to-African colonial rule and occupancy by the Republic of Cameroon.Bila was born and raised in the City of Komo, Northern Zone in the Southern Cameroons a.k.a. the Federal Republic of Ambazonia. He seemed to be rejected by the culture. He studied hard and earned a master's degree in geology, but because the country was poorly ruled under French Cameroon, his university diploma became worthless. He did what he saw for a job, and because of his kind of job, he was mistaken for a madman. This was when mentally challenged people were considered dirt. They needed to be taken off the streets of Douala as a neo-French emperor was visiting. At the time, Bila felt that his life was done. He got a US visa to travel to the United States of America, where he worked hard to become a naturalized US citizen. When he had the opportunity to make a better life for himself and others, he did just that.
