I was adopted so young I barely remember it. Although it was by blood relatives, I grew up in a loveless home with people who abused me mentally, physically, and emotionally. Too young to know how to deal with my emotions, I began to act out.By the age of twelve, I was drinking, drugging, and smoking cigarettes. Staying in trouble became normal. I had become just as toxic as my environment. That caused me to carry a lot of baggage to college with me. There I met my first husband and my children's father. From infidelity to prison, this had to be the pettiest relationship I have ever seen or been in. The thirteen long years of heavy drinking, drugging, and domestic violence were a bad atmosphere for our girls. We were creating more damaged goods.Once I decided to leave my train wreck of a marriage, I found the divorce to be as messy and complicated. Situations like this have a way of exposing the fake people in your life. It lets you know who is for you and who has secretly been against you. The moment I decided to do what I felt was best for me and my girls, the ridicule began, and it was relentless. I was immediately a bad mother. I had to stand my ground and defend the decisions I made. I had to show my so-called family and friends I was strong enough to stand alone. I never really had a family, just a bunch of relatives. I never had many friends, just true frenemies. It was me against the world, and I was ready for battle. After the divorce was final and I was kid-free, my drinking, drugging, and partying spiraled out of control. This led me to people who helped me turn things around. Regardless of how bad things got, my club brothers never turned their backs on me. That's why joining a motorcycle club was one of the best decisions I ever made. It didn't hurt that when I met the sergeant at arms, I wanted one hot night with him. However, after I got to know him, I wanted him all to myself. We started as best friends, and our relationship was solid. It was definitely tested. From my children returning home, my multiple arrests, and my bad relationship with his family. Through it all, he had my back.I had spent the majority of my life masking. Riddled with addictions to stealing, food, alcohol, drugs, sex, money, and gambling, I had a lot of self-reflecting and growing to do. All this was made possible with a stretch in the penitentiary. I had to start with separating religion and spirituality. Religion was forced on me. It was time for me to decide. My physical being may have been trapped in a cage, but my mental stability was far worse. I needed to free myself and my mentality from bondage and truly begin to heal and grow.My life may have been an uphill battle, but I made it to the top, a much-better Mz. Talented.

Journalists embedded with troops during military conflicts are commissioned to report on the ebb and flow of battle from an eyes-on perspective, not to influence outcomes. Rusty Shephard risked his life to do both, volunteering for assignment as a World War I correspondent for United Press International in 1918 and traveling with the first wave of troops to France. With his marriage to fellow journalist Katie Keenan floundering back home, Rusty literally threw himself into the bloody trenches alongside his comrade soldiers battling a common enemy on the battlefield while battling his own demons within. In his absence, Katie, worried and confused, dove deeper into investigative reporting, uncovering a domestic plot of terrorism which placed her own life in danger. Their individual adventures resulted in Pulitzer Prizes for journalism, awards for heroism, and insights into themselves and their relationships. Could a young orphaned boy be a healing source for the emotional and physical scars they endured?

Beauty from Ashes is fiction and is a compilation of stories written for the author's wife as she battled leukemia. This compilation is a continuation of the author's book, Harbingers of Spring, in that it presents the growth of a festival over several decades in the Sweetwater Valley of Brown County, Indiana. This area is a location where the author spent his childhood years, where his grandfather's farm was located. There is no festival located there, only beauty, and the site still has the location of the author's grandmother's house where it sat before it burned to the ground. Rebuilding it would be senseless, as it originally sat too close to the road. An attempt was made, herein, to present a story of equality and diversity and describe what that might look like if all concerned strove for the same goal. Ugly is a presentation of racism concerning the mother of the author's childhood girlfriend. The mother presents total unbiased interactions, except toward one neighbor child. Isaiah 61 is used to outline the ups and downs of progress toward a multifaceted goal. In every situation and every confrontation, the author attempts to show an actuality of beauty developing from conflict and cruelty. It presents the human predicament through the inclusion of the most radical and diverse characters the author can imagine, all working together to achieve happiness. The forbidden love between a mixed child and a White child is a continuous thread throughout the book, with an almost conclusion, when in old age and helplessness, he is murdered and dies being cared for by his lover. The conclusion is from Genesis 1:2, Job 33:4, and Numbers 27:16 regarding the Hebrew word Ruach, wherein God's name is referred to as the sound of a breath, wherein we whisper God's name in every breath of our life and close our life with one final recognition of our living God. Love triumphs. This is the author's third book. He also wrote Butterfly Wars and Harbingers of Spring.

The title to this book is Imagination: Seven Ways to Stop a Bully. This children's book was designed with written intent to help save our children. For the kids that cannot see, hear, touch, or smell the natural things in life, some of us may take for granted need our help. Everybody is not blessed with natural ability to inspire people, and this book is exactly what is needed in our day-to-day community and world of reality. Often the bully shows up when it's unexpected. With these motivating stories and champion battles and detailed pictures illustrated in this book, Knockerochie shows that a person can overcome anything once you have the right tools for success. Anything is possible. His voice was powerful. People respect him, and a lot of the wisdom was passed down from my older brother, Sam and Mario, and our Uncle C and his and brother Bishop Don Majic Juan who really helped when seeking the knowledge and tools for success. My mom always wondered why am I always hanging with all those people, but mother didn't realize that all those people were hanging with me. What once a skinny kid that went through trials and trivalations and made it through life with unlocking secret with conversations and using his voice and knowledge to share these champion stories of a humble king who lived in Texas but traveled all over the world to many different places.

The book of Revelation or The Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ is not just a book of bad news, judgments, epidemics, great cosmic cataclysms, and a future world government full of darkness. It is also the message of the greatest love that can exist, God's love to save humanity from the terrible end that all those who did not want to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and chose to distance themselves from him will have to face. It is a book worth studying because of its placement at the end of the gospels and the Epistles. Furthermore, it represents the final act to complete the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and is the only book in the Bible that speaks of the beginning and the end of all times.

This book chronicles many stories that cover deep-sea fishing in the Bahamas and a lightning strike there, too, as well as fly fishing in the Catskills. Then there is hunting quail in Florida and big game in Kenya. Not left out are stories of Palm Beach society, adventures in Mexico, and memorable automobile moments. These are just a few of many varied tales best told next to the fireplace with a drink in hand. Some stories should bring a chuckle or a real belly laugh. Enjoy the many adventures.

Wrought by a childhood replete with trying circumstances and telling experiences (conveyed in Frances Smith's earlier book), and in tandem with resultant beliefs and attitudes she held toward herself and the world she was about to enter, the commencement of legal adulthood also removed any buttressing protection minority provided. Too many confused and self-critical assessments would ill-serve this demoiselle. In time, those same assessments would transform into extremely harmful and life-threatening situations. Surviving would become a lifestyle for the author, which would shape not only her world but that of those whom she held most dear.Ms. Smith's adulthood was remarkable because of the duality consistently displayed between her professional abilities and achievements and her personal descent into depreciation and decline. This descent was birthed by a mentally imprinted sense of desperation inseminated by prevailing dogma, the flawed conclusions of youthful minds, and unattended hurts and breaches. This tale is a cautionary account. Similar to the brutality of a gauntlet one is forced to run, a few key choices in the life of this young woman vaulted her into a sort of awful test. Not failing would require overcoming deeply rooted beliefs and fears that sucked her backward in a downward spiral. Failing the test would mean no escape from an existence that was the antithesis of living.Scores of challenges the author faced in her adult life were nearly fantastical, so grueling and perverse were they. If any hope of victory existed, this woman's constitution must contain an extraordinary will to persevere and survive. Would the author discover that quality within herself, or would defeat ultimately claim her? This narrative relates what could be argued as the predictable plunge the author made into the depths, given the memories, messages, and conclusions in which she was cloaked as she debuted as an adult, already wearied from her life up to that point. This tale also abounds in efforts equally mesmerizing, which the principal made to try to save herself. There is no way to imagine the unspeakable journey that was Ms. Smith's adulthood. This story is simply a must read.

This book is dedicated to all those who grew up or are growing up in a less than desirable situation, as well as those who have been told they can't or won't make it. Additionally, this book is dedicated to God, who has taken care of me throughout my life, and my family whom I love dearly. To everyone, it's not about where you start. We as humans have this inherent ability to make decisions, meaning where we finish is up to us.

This book was started about getting down to the basics about not just how to make a roux but how to overcome the barriers everyone faces in their daily life, that is, overcoming the doldrums of an exhausting daily routine and allowing some breathing room so you can advance yourself and your interests when you would otherwise feel you are barely getting by. There is advice on budgeting, kitchen tips and hacks, and even some information about how to better take care of yourself. Hopefully, someone will find something helpful in here. As for the expansive section on getting around in the kitchen, you can learn some things about cooking, only just don't expect any recipes! This is a handbook, a handbook for higher living. Escape the routine!

Captain Raferty Hawkins, the Duke of Black Hallow and consort to Queen Alexis I, has two big challenges. There is a blood contract out on him and Killian O'Hare. The money is coming from the Aurora Empire, but the operators are near at hand in the Badlands. The second problem is less immediate but has greater consequences for the universe. The Goldenes Tor military is about to overthrow their emperor and enter the war in support of the Orion Confederation against the Aurora Empire. Such an event would mean defeat for the Zekes. The pirate leader decides to focus on the latter problem while letting his allies handle the former problem. His Badlands comrades are used to such situations as someone has been trying to kill them for the majority of their lives. Destiny Flores, Tactical, Baby Doll, and the two hit men, Shelby Pope and Jackson Kemper, make a formidable group regardless of the threat. Now they will search for the people who are administering the contract. Once found, they will be dealt with in the usual way such problems are handled in the Badlands: ruthless violence administered with vengeance. The blood contract is being funded by members of the peerage within the Aurora Empire. These elites know this is their best chance to get Hawkins and O'Hare before these two would-be contemporaries can become forces within Aurora upper society at the war's end. Queen Alexis intends to bring these instigators to justice. Unfortunately for the guilty peers involved, the punishment will not be the usual slap on the wrist reserved for members of the ruling class who stray outside of the law. Alexis loves her consort and has no intention of letting this slide. With the aid of media mogul David Van Drucker, Alex will dish out her own brand of justice. It will not be violent, but it will be just as effective in ending the threat.Meanwhile, Hawkins addresses the bigger problem. If Emperor Viktor Aurick is taken by the traitors within the Goldenes Tor Imperial Staff, the attack on the Aurora Empire would immediately follow. Despite knowing of the attack, the Royal Navy does not have the ships to defeat such a massive onslaught. The longer the emperor stays free, the longer the attack is delayed. The emperor turns to Hawkins for help in retrieving his throne. Hawkins searches for allies to bring to the cause. He is under no illusion that allies will join him to help create a better universe, but they will join for money or other favors that the emperor can grant. Hawkins directs the recruitment of the greedy, the needy, and anyone else with a warship and ordnance for this fight.Captains Killian O'Hare, Shane Delacruz, and Dylan Whitlock do their parts to achieve the goals of Pirate Flotilla One as ongoing missions are concluded and old scores are settled. This may be the last time such an occasion will present itself, and revenge cannot be put off until tomorrow.Old enemies become new allies as a threat that could take them all down must be defeated.
