Seven Years of Silence is a collection of poetry written about the horrid abuse that occurred between a forty-two-year-old predator and myself when I was fifteen years old. I spent seven years waiting for my criminal trial, which ended in a miscarriage of justice. These poems detail the thoughts and feelings I experienced while on the path to healing. Seven Years of Silence highlights the suffocating waves of depression, anxiety, and self-isolation that come with traumatic instances and shows that healing is nonlinear but still possible.
Birmingham people can be found all over the world. The majority stay at home and live in the area where they were born. Some venture to London or other parts of England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales. The more adventurous go to English-speaking countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa. Some go to Europe but they still have easy and quick access to home.Even in English-speaking countries, there are many differences to their lives in Birmingham. The Brummie accent can cause problems and be the source of mirth. Many Brummies can accept the new way of life, but some get homesick and return to Birmingham.These stories are of Birmingham people who lived and worked outside England. They settled in Canada, possibly one of the easiest countries for English people to adapt to the way of life.These stories are fictional but they come from my experience, having travelled extensively in Canada.
Lemon Tree Conversations Volume 3 follows Volume 1 and 2, all of which are essentially commentaries presented in conversations. This volume continues to build on the reflections on a deeper discovery of the nature of ideas, all part of being gifted with a journey, acknowledging it as the purpose, the pursuit, the growth of the reflections in depth. This volume has a strong Christian undertone stemming from the revelation of Messiah as the best of friends. The interpretation of the conversations is left open to swing in any direction wherever the need of the reader may be at the point of reading. In this it aims at providing a blessing, to pick from the words and the lines, the tree that grew from the pip that fell in the ground, died and became the lemon tree, inspired by the Seed of Jesse.
