She later obtained a Doctorate in Ministry from Christian International Ministry Training College. Professionally, Holly has worked with both children and adults who have been physically, developmentally, and mentally disabled in Child Protection Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Worker's Compensation; she also founded a maternity home. Holly became a Christian in 1983 and has been a mission's coordinator, youth leader, nursery coordinator, part of a worship team, a member of the prophetic team and healing deliverance teams in various churches.

While attending a creative writing class for my degree in early childhood education I was asked to write a poem that told a story. I was working with the children of our church on the armor of God. I loved the idea of kings and princesses, and knights. I also love that God will give us the power to overcome evil if we trust in Him. Once upon a kingdom was created from that poem.

I took ownership for my wrongs and stood up for my rights. I didn't want to appear perfect to anyone. However, the glory of God shined on my life. I learned that I was my worst critic and could never be perfect to fit in with church people. But I do have a place in God and so do you.
