''What good is your wealth if you don''t get along?'' The much loved ''once upon a time'' entry makes Sigal''s retelling of the fable a particular joy: ''Once upon a time, there were two cousin mice, Both family and friends, which is just as nice. A gray country mouse, cheery and kind. The best sort of mouse you can find. But his cousin mouse, plump and witty, Lived richly in the big house in the city.'' And so the story introduces children to the disparity between the humble country mouse and his ''rich'' city cousin, sharing each other''s homes for a glance at how the other half lives - and both prefer their own status: ''Even great wealth cannot buy you bliss; one prefers that, the other wants this. Whether you''re a person or a country mouse, we each like our own kind of house. You see, people and mice just don''t get along, What good is your wealth if you do not belong?" The country mouse explained, "I''d rather be healthy, Better to be safe and sound than being wealthy."A fun story with a solid message beautifully illustrated - and Sigal Adler successfully adds to her repertoire of fine children''s books. Grady Harp, June 20

If you're like most people today, you know kids who don't like to read, or feel discouraged by how challenging it can be. Maybe even your own kids. And who can blame them? Today's world is full of stimulation, bright colors, TVs, computers, phones-and they all take up so much time in our lives that and as a result, our kids are reading less. But reading and interacting with the environment have been proven to have a powerful impact on children's educational attainments and even on acquiring basic life skills. So it's more important than ever today to help our kids love reading by themselves, even from the earliest stages. How can we teach kids to read? How can we help kids read better? And how can we instill a love of reading in today's kids so they'll want to read more and more? Sigal Adler has developed this interactive series, Everything I've Never Seen, out of the belief that despite the fact that the importance of rhyme isn't emphasized in schools when learning to read and write, this is a method which has come into use more and more over time. Children with dyslexia, for instance, find it much easier to understand words when they rhyme rather than dissecting them into letters and syllables. Meeting with children in kindergarten and the early grades, Sigal has met many children who have succeeded in learning to read and write thanks to rhyme. It's simple, enjoyable - and it works. Now you and your kids are invited to learn together… grow together… laugh together, as you explore the hilarious interactive world of Everything I've Never Seen!

The Grasshopper and the Ant*********************************When you work all summer to save up your crumbsYou'll have no worries when winter time comes.***About Aesop's FablesWho was Aesop, and why are his fables famous all over the world? In fact, very little is known about this mysterious Ancient Greek figure. He is thought to have been a slave originally from Africa, but even that isn't known for certain. But his stories, with their talking animals and simple moral lessons, have been popular for thousands of years. They have been translated into almost every language and were among the first books to be printed when the printing press was invented in the 1400s. The most famous Aesop's Fable is probably the story of The Hare and the Tortoise, with its message that "slow and steady wins the race." Children everywhere have grown up loving these delightful short tales, learning and growing through their bond with these timeless classics.I grew up enjoying many of Aesop's fables and I'm excited to share them with you here in my own style, a little more contemporary and told in rhymes to make them fun to read and listen to. I hope you and your kids will love sharing these stories and learning from their messages just as much as I always have.
