How do you ask for a second chance from the person whose world you shattered? How do you make things right?Let Me Make It Right is an intense novel - about love, loss, and second chances - with a little forgiveness on the side.Nathan would rather rip out his heart than hurt the woman who ignites a fire in him with every look, every touch. But that's exactly what happened when an unlucky encounter burdens him with a wife and an unplanned family, turning his dream into a nightmare named Tina.Teale fell in love with Nathan the moment they kissed. Their lives, their plans, and their heartbeats were in sync. But a phone call revealed how wrong she was, forcing her to make choices for herself and the child she carried.Tina loved only one man, and it wasn't Nathan. When she discovers Teale is back in Nathan's life, she vows to make them pay.An unplanned trip throws Nathan and Teale back together. Is there still enough love left between them?Choices will be made. Lines will be drawn. Together, they will face challenges that no one saw coming. Sometimes fate does decide when the time is right. Sergeant Penny was a jovial 40-something policeman in Cornwall. Dedicated to upholding the law, he took his position very seriously, but only up to a point. His one failing was that he sympathized with the wrecking gangs, who earned their living plundering wrecks around local beaches in spells of rough weather.Penny's mentor and lifelong friend was Doctor Mays. Kate Kessell was another of Penny's associates. Kate was pregnant with her seventh child when she survived the cholera pandemic of 1849 that took her six children and her husband. It was Kate who discovered the body of a young woman one foggy night as she was on her way home after visiting her pregnant daughter. The victim's half-naked body was sprawled on the low wall of a bridge over the River Amble - with a fisherman's knife protruding from her chest. This was Penny's first serious case since becoming a policeman, one that would take all his detection skills to unravel a seemingly perfect crime.About the Author: David John Wiles grew up a short walk from the River Thames and a beautiful centuries-old public park near London. He has lived the last 30 years in Cornwall. His first job followed the family tradition of boat building at major boatyards along the Thames. "My two brothers joined the RAF when they were 18, but I fancied the Royal Marines, and became a commando serving in the Far East." Then the author worked in the film industry at three of Britain's major studios until the industry began to wind down due the popularity of television. He then worked at three TV studios. This is his 13th book.

A great drama involving incredible courage took place during World War II in Morocco, but within all the momentous events happening during wartime, this story has been largely overlooked. The bravery shown by one Sephardic woman in wartime Casablanca has never received much attention. In addition to the millions of Jews and others who were decimated in the Nazi camps, and the millions of other displaced peoples and refugees who escaped from the claws of the Nazis, thousands of Jews were sheltered in Morocco by local Jewish communities.Helene Cazes-Benattar, modern Morocco's first woman lawyer, became the guardian angel of refugees stranded in North Africa. She provided sustenance and shelter for thousands of Jewish and non-Jewish asylum seekers, continuing on as a human rights activist until her death in 1979.She and the Moroccan Jews who helped shelter the European war refugees were themselves threatened by Vichy government authorities, who persecuted the Jews upon Nazi orders. Ultimately, the refugees were delivered to safety by the great American landing during Operation Torch in November 1942. Operation Torch was the first major involvement of American troops in the European/North African conflict.(About the Author)Raphael Israeli has taught Islamic, Chinese, and Middle Eastern history at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. A graduate of Hebrew University in history and Arabic literature, he earned a Ph.D. in Chinese and Islamic history from the University of California, Berkeley. Now retired, he has been a Fellow of the Harry Truman Research Institute at Hebrew University and the Jerusalem Center since the 1970s, and is the author of over 70 research books, a dozen edited books, and 100 scholarly articles about Islam.
