The Genovese Family is a well-researched book on the 100-plus-year history of one of New York's infamous La Cosa Nostra organizations. It begins with an outline of the first Boss, Giuseppe Morello, and ends with the present leader, Liborio Bellomo.I profile many of the leaders of the Family, such as Lucky Luciano, Frank Costello, Vito Genovese, and Vincent Gigantes. Also covered are some acting Bosses like Jerry Catena, Tommy Eboli, and Anthony Salerno. High-profile Capo Ruggiero Boiardo's career is summarized in one chapter as well.Corrupt union locals were a prime source of illegal income for the Family, so one chapter discusses their infiltration and use of these entities. In addition, in the section on Boss Frank Costello, I discuss his many tribulations with the IRS and his attempted assassination in 1957. A jury found his successor, Vito Genovese, guilty of a heroin conspiracy that remains controversial. Still, some skeptics may find the conviction warranted after reading the government's evidence in the case.I have included official indictments and various appeals that readers may find interesting. In addition, a transcript of a conversation between an informer and a prominent Genovese figure provides some insight into the personality of a made guy. Finally, most will be stunned by the endless court battles some characters endure. The cost of time and lawyers had to be staggering. As always, it is impossible to include every significant event when writing a history of the Family. Consequently, many important characters had to be left out, but the book covers the Bosses in detail. In addition, I have included my analysis of the Jimmy Hoffa disappearance here, because many authors and law enforcement figures have mistakenly, in my opinion, pinned the crime on Tony Provenzano, a long-time Genovese Capo and Teamster leader.

Students are drawn to technology like the planets are attracted to the sun's gravitational pull. Schools can utilize this attraction to move from traditional teaching and learning practices to ones that use innovation and technology. This can be done through careful and purposeful school improvement planning using problem-solving techniques.Launching into Education's New Future challenges educators and administrators to implement a new way of shared improvement and learning at their schools to enhance student achievement.Do not miss the comments on technology and innovation that I heard from students, teachers, and administrators during my role as a senior administrator. If students love technology so much, why not use it in combination with excellent planning to enhance teaching and learning environments? The space program is a model of an effective, technologically innovative organization and their work with rockets serves as the procedural framework for this book. You will be amazed at what the schools shared with me about their success with innovation and technology!

This book describes a new theory of the birth of the Universe, from nothing (Big Bang) to virtual solidity (mass) in seven steps, depicted like a lotus flower.Mass is described as a vibrating string, containing instructions to facilitate atomic entities. Singularity at birth (zero) and collapse at rebirth (infinity) define the existence of the Universe. The theory's unique "inside-out" view accounts for dark energy distribution and points to many other discrepancies in our understanding of the Universe. Furthermore, it opens the gate of conscious fields to describe life and evolution. The human species is endowed with intelligence to understand Nature itself! The story is told with humour and illustrations to simplify the complex subject matter.

The Chapter has concluded. The Chapter members have ascended, and in the greatest and unprecedented stand, good has prevailed over evil. But still, Andrea Meyer suffers from unrest. Can the events and ancestry of her Chapter be studied and analyzed to bring clarity and increase the fighting chances of upcoming Chapters? Can she do more ?Andrea is haunted by visions from the past and is convinced these visions hold the Key to her son Andrew's and her daughter Jordana's salvation. All we can say is that this story has it all: intrigue, romance, spec ops, family-oriented healthy living and an emotional roller-coaster. This fast-paced saga will introduce you to amazing original characters as Meyer's analysis gets tangled up with historic WWII German legends and beyond. We invite you to witness but another mere chapter in the grand scheme of things, yet one of the most epic confrontations between good and evil.To quote Andrea Winter, "We can indeed trust in the Bible, for what is written has already come to pass, and what was written shall be. But what of the passages that have not been written ? Hold on, comedic humor might help compensate for the darker passages, but this ain't no botched up dog detective sequel parody . . ."

A question that each and every one of us has contemplated at some point in time is, what is the meaning of life? And never before has humanity been in such need of a deeper sense of understanding and meaning as at present. The meaning of life isn't one to be contemplated with the mind, but rather, one that is accessed through the heart. In order for this inner knowing to emerge, we need to clear away the fog that has been created by the outside world. This journal is a gentle guide towards unraveling the inner wisdom of the soul. It was created to help support those on a journey of self-discovery and personal healing, to awaken the highest version of themselves, and through that discover the meaning and purpose of their life.

Have you ever seen a buttercup standing proud and tall in a field amongst the weeds and tufts of grass, its delicate petals bright yellow, smiling up at the sun and swaying ever so slightly in the summer breeze? The sight evoked memories of years ago: that slim girl in the yellow dress and matching sun hat. Her arms stretched out with a smile that lit up her face as she twirled under the hot summer sun. Her skin shining, with an innocence unmistakably of the young, her laugh held by the breeze just for a second before drifting away.Perhaps she should have paid more attention, but time was ticking by and there was somewhere she needed to be. Where, she couldn't quite remember. She reprimanded herself; wasting time was shameful when there was so much to get done, but it had felt so good, watching and listening. She could just hear her, but the sound kept drifting away: "Mummy, Mummy, look at me, Mummy!" One more look wouldn't hurt, but she couldn't see her anymore. Where did she go? She peered through emptiness and then she heard her again, but this time there was no laughter, and cold chill went down her spine as the words sounded more desperate: "MUMMY!"Then the sun went behind a cloud and the world was all that little bit greyer. This psychological thriller spanning two decades captures the lives of five people who are tragically intertwined, impacting their families as their fates twist and turn.
