What started as a project to capture some of her funny childhood memories in writing, evolved into a conscious awareness of little nuggets of widsom she'd gained through many of those experiences. It was in the writing where God began to open her heart to specific truths she had never before considered, including her most painful childhood experiences -- the ones she never intended to put into writing. As a result, her memoirs are a mixture of humor, inspiration and faith, that will not only have you laughing but will touch your heart as well.

The first day after I retired and the alarm clock did not go off, I wandered out through the French doors from our bedroom to the courtyard, cup of coffee in hand. I realized I was completely alone for the first time in a long time. In this peaceful moment, a single thought exploded in my mind: What do I do now?Transitioning to Retirement with Courage and Grace is a road map for women who seek God's guidance in all seasons of their lives and particularly in times of change. It is filled with practical suggestions, pertinent facts, gentle humor, and the transparency of an author who hopes to be seen as a supportive guide and friend.Ways to prepare spirit, soul, body, personal relationships, and social living for retirement are discussed. Ways to handle the irritations, struggles, and fears that are frequently a part of any life transition are examined. The impact of change, the importance of structure, and strategies to help make significant and sometimes difficult life changes are offered. Finally, we'll talk about ways to enrich the retirement experience and pass a legacy forward. The pathway through retirement is a mini transition that closely resembles the journey through life. The same change and decision-making strategies, persistence, flexibility, curiosity, and scriptural principles work for both. The learning from this book, therefore, can be applied to other areas of life as well.

While moving Group Alpha away from an increasingly hostile Earth Government One, Mistress Deborah receives word that one of the few remaining church elders has been betrayed and is in grave danger. Between EG1's purge of historical accounts of religions and its relentless campaign against everyone over the age of sixty, Deborah knows her group must rescue Brother Alan to preserve both religious and secular history. Her sense of responsibility is complicated by the health decline of her mentor and Group Alpha's spiritual leader, Mistress Grace. She diverts the group from their northwest march so their best fighters can save Brother Alan before leaving western Tennessee. Alpha's scouts could not know EG1's patience with dissidents, and scattered pockets of believers with elders, has run out. Unwittingly, Group Alpha camps on a route EG1 trackers will use to attack resistors. The battle for Nashville forces all their plans to change.

God made and placed man on the earth so that man would not only have a cognitive, "head," knowledge of Him but also a "heart" relationship with him. He wanted man to know him objectively and intimately and has given mankind everything needed for that to be a reality. God wants us to not only know that he loves us, but he wants us to love him back! The more that we know about him, the more we will love him! An essential part of that knowledge of God is that He is the Triune God: the Trinity. How well do we understand this truth? How do the three persons of the Godhead interrelate to one another? What does each do in our lives that only He can do?In this deductive study of God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) we look first at those truths that belong corporately to each Person of the Godhead. Then, we individually look at those characteristics, qualities, attributes, and works that are specific to each one. Throughout we will progressively see who this One is; who is our Father, our Savior, our Comforter and the depth of the relationship we are to have with Him.

Most of our time is spent with the outer life -- our jobs, our friends and families, our hobbies, or our health. We spend much less time with the inner life, that place of feelings and thoughts, anger and love, hopes and dreams. When we do spend time with the inner life, it can often be overwhelming and disruptive, taking over our lives with feelings of hopelessness and fear or with endless ruminations about our past and worries about our future. In the practices of this book, we learn how to make friends with our inner life, to reconnect with ourselves, others, our world, and with God. We learn to have productive conversations with three specific inner voices: our separated self who lives in a world of scarcity and fear, our connected self who lives in an expansive world of abundance and compassion, and the watcher who stands apart from all the conflicting conversations going on in the inner life. The watcher decides how then shall we live. With a little time and some practice, we can bring our inner turmoil to a peaceful resolution and live a life that is safe, joyful, focused, and filled with compassion.

He loved Jesus with all his heart and understood love and wrote about love. The love of God toward humankind and he was determined to show that love in such a way that as many people as possible could experience that love for themselves. Therefore, this book is about explaining John's understanding of the love of God towards His people.

Almost everyone has heard about 'Jonah and the Whale,' right? The kids' story about the runaway prophet getting swallowed by a big fish. But what if it was more than just a simple children's story or a fictitious myth from ancient times? This book explores this famous biblical tale, showing that the story of Jonah is actually a brilliantly written narrative that has been skillfully woven together. As we follow Jonah's story, what we discover is not just a window into Jonah's life, but a mirror into our own. We are all Jonah, and like the runaway prophet, we all have much to learn about the grace of God.
