I had a great family, an amazing job, and I was living for the Lord Jesus Christ, yet I felt frustrated, angry, despondent and depressed, without having a reason. It wasn't until I visited a particular church and the Pastor told us to go home that night and ask God what is our divine destiny. He said that each one of us has a divine destiny and if we do not know what our destiny is, we will just live in repetitious cycles. It was that very night I asked God to reveal to me my divine destiny, and the Lord showed me this book entitled, The Silent Death, and he asked me to write it for Him. This book states the different ways one can die without knowing that they are dying. It is about the traps of the enemy, Satan himself. It depicts the many strategies that Satan uses to rob people of their peace, their joy, their happiness, their marriages, their children, their finances and their divine destinies. This book also includes strategies one can use to defeat Satan and his destructive plans for their lives so that they will no longer be experiencing a silent death; instead they will live a victorious life if they allow Jesus Christ to have His way in them!
The purpose of this book is not to debate the theological, style or cultural issues of worship expressions. The primary theme is that of finding the balance in corporate worship expressions - blended worship. While there may be moments in the life of a worshipping community where risky and sweeping changes are prudent, this is not the primary context for this dialogue. When these changes are done with loving visionary leaders, a positive outcome can be achieved. This book will help leaders carefully think through how they process change in their congregation's worship expressions in such a way that worship tensions are avoided. It will also challenge leaders to take ownership of their motives and actions in dealing with worship tensions in the local congregation and to be willing to change if necessary. Ultimately, the goal is to divert or derail division in the church. Throughout this book a theme will be explored and at the conclusion of each section there are questions or thoughts for personal reflection. As you read, treat this writing as meditative. After nine years of a difficult ministry in an Ontario housing complex and the deaths of my father and brother, I plunged into the deepest, darkest hole you could imagine. I asked God to guide my healing process and give me the right books to help me heal. God answered my prayers. The pundits of television and radio, friends and relatives daily feed us an endless stream of well-meaning advice in how to successfully deal with life's vicissitudes and problematic situations. Engels dares to suggest that we do the unthinkable and when the ominous black clouds of a problem swirl about us that we 'be still', and let our Creator speak to us and solutions will be found. When Two Worlds Collide is excellent in that it tells a great story, but on a deeper level it makes us stop and think about our relationship to God and how through communing with Him we may bring our lives back on track.
